Good vid. Caribiners, harness, unnecessary (as you say). Water? 1 fill spot. But @ a low spot - pre Mist Trail. That fill spot, though, can also be a welcomed site on the walk back. in 2022, 23, 24 - the Mist Trail was closed for Summer time rock slide repair. Alternate route is the JMT. Some find that cycling to the trail head should be considered. You ride by those walking "garbage miles" to the trail in early morn & those heading home late in the day. In these cases, the is priceless.

Hey there! I'm planning almost the same trip! Can you give me an estimate of how much money did you spend for everything?

Half dome is a great hike, and Clay gave you a lot of good advice. Just a couple more tips. One, don't wear cotton. It absorbs water and sweat, and it tends not to dry very well. Second, take a Sawyer water filter, and just carry a couple liters of water. Carrying 3 or 4 liters of water is not necessary. Enjoy hiking half dome, you will NEVER forget it!!!

Great video! My wife and i are thinking of doing a similar 10 day itinerary at the end of august, but struggling with the car rental...we noticed that a 1 way rental starting at either Glacier or Jackson doubles the price to almost 2k...any suggestions for transportation?

Purchased a second user Air 2S for £350 ($450) as an upgrade from my trainer drone, my Mini 2 SE. OMG! Best £350 I have ever spent. The difference between the two is almost impossible to describe, especially with the image quality. Suffice it to say it's a game changer. Was more than happy to have to register and maybe even take it to the next level and do some commercial stuff now that I am more confident and competent. (Oh and the bonus? sold my Mini2 SE for £275 ($350)) Even the wife couldn't really complain!

Do you need an additional permit just to enter Yosemite? Or will the half dome daily lottery permit get you into the park and be allowed on the trail? (Website is a little confusing)
@ernestlcolemanjr3 ай бұрын
This is what the website reads. If you have a reservation for one of the following, you do not need an additional reservation. You still pay the $35-per-car entrance fee upon arrival (credit card only) unless you have an annual or lifetime pass. Your reservation for in-park lodging or camping, a Half Dome permit, or a wilderness permit allows you to enter the park 24 hours per day for the duration of your reservation or for three consecutive days (whichever is longer).

You didn’t mention the option to get a wilderness permit to do a multi day backpacking trip. Then it’s a simple matter to add Half Dome permits to your Wilderness permit. The only “catch” is that you then have to do a multi day trip.
