Thanks for this great interview. Meeting Point is my favourite poem. Strangely, I first came across it in musical form as the lyrics to a sublime song by Emily Portman and Rob Harbron. The song version was written by Tim Dalling but, in my opinion, Emily Portman and Rob Harbron’s cover version is the definitive one. I was lucky enough to see them perform it Live. kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z52Qnneto6ajiqMsi=_DaxvazLtERsVt9W

George Herbert is one of my all time favourite poets. To hear Andrew hot priest reading it is bliss. Beautiful. ❤❤

let me give you a perspective on this: "an anaesthetic from which none comes round.." the West though given more expression of Self, which feels good, it is also true that it is caused by the deeper desire (cause) and a stronger attachment to Self (effect of western life and resultant strong belief in expression).. while the East though given less expression of Self is synonymous to its original roots (which are west's too but East is closer to it) of selflessness, i.e. beyond i, and is better designed to realise transcendence of self, if lived wisely.. The contrast though is that for west's given expression of self and resultant growth of0 attachment to it since it's given expression, it comes to fear this anaesthetic rather than aspire for it, because it is terribly true, and truth is the only thing worthy of aspiration! the East, though, its deeper desire for transcendent self and so a tendency to celebrate it in its deities and their reflection in beings, aspires for expression of self because of lost ways in any development of wisdom!.. more later, g.

Thank you for this incredible gift today. It was precisely the poem one needs as a friend right now. And through this series we make new "friends" and the circle expands outward. Yes we must "dare to remember" and "dare to believe" and we need so much to believe. Beautiful.
