Explains everything. Essentially the crap weather around Peterborough is the reason why all the trees were cut down (to make the bridge to overcome the wind noise), which meant more wind and so on and so forth and so it goes.

Around 35 year ago there was an old fella that lived on a home made house boat round 7km up from the boat ramp, me grandad took beer up there from the pub for him n swapped it for bream, Nan thought grandad was going fishing, but no he was up the river drinking cans😂 had the pleasure of going on a few fishing trips up there with grandad, but not much fishing was happening, good times 👍 good vid knakers

Hi Mate, wow thats a great story. Id love to know more about that. And some photos. Any idea how long he lived up there on his boat for? Amazing. Thanks for watching, and the great comment.

Did that same trip back in the 1980's in 2 2 man Kayaks and a 2 man Canadian canoe..awesome trip we went up as far as we could go . Had to lift the kayaks out and carry them about half a km and put them back in the water . travelled further up the river until dusk and made camp on the banks. it became harder to travel any further along because it was just so narrow. So in the morning we just packed up and paddled back to the caravan park at Peterborough. We were all from 1st Camperdown Scout Group at the time.

Hi Jeff, Thanks for the great story. That would have being great fun. I wonder if it has changed much since 1980?

Yer you have to be careful. I got a great tip off someone who commented on here, witch I never even thought about, and that is to always back in, so you can drive out forward and quickly if you need too. Very wise advice.

Question: Spent 3 weeks wandering around Tas. Your parks are very good with the public BBQ. But none of them get hot enough to actually grill anything. They are hot enough to keep a plate warm, but not hot enough to actually cook anything. Do you know why the temp is set so low on these public BBQ that they cannot actually be used ? Also it is incredibly annoying to have to stand there and press the button every 2 minutes or the flame automatically goes out. Why set the timer so ridiculously short ?
@bill-gray18 күн бұрын
Hi mate, no not sure about any of that, sorry. That sounds frustrating though. :o
