When do you start feeding the wrigglers ? On which day ? And what kind of food ?
@Aquadiction4 күн бұрын
I believe it was as soon as they were free swimming, we only used microworm because the worms can live a couple days in the aquarium so don't cause pollution, we then transitioned them onto decapsulated brine shrimp eggs a couple weeks later I think, hope that helps buddy (all info should all be in the video, it was a while back so cant remember exactly without rewatching it myself lol)

The cost of the wild caught ones here in the US is insane but now there are some tank raised ones for about a third of the price. Still very expensive but beautiful fish.

Yea noticed this in the UK recently from when we got ours they have halved in price, I suspect they will become as cheap as say cardinals at some point as they are easy to breed but also more hardy! Def going to be a popular fish in the hobby going forward 👍

See a lot of the less red ones in the hobby, probably just poor breeding from the breeders not selecting the reddest fish for the breeding sadly! Seems the long fin are brighter than the short fins so probably just better breeding stock bud

@Aquadiction20 күн бұрын
Yea have absolutely hundreds of the Santa Maria’s we were going to mention them in the cenepa red Pencilfish video as the poor man’s alternative as the males are somewhat similar in colouration but never got round to it! Merimbula Pronounced: "meh-rim-beul-la" This blue eye is extremely variable along its range. Some of the rainforest forms have oversized fins and grow to nearly 10cm. Rainforest forms spawn in gravel and are solitary and aggressive.

@@rainerderreimer4369 yea I see where your coming from bud! So I will be doing an update on the ginga/blue stars at some point because this is the one strain we thought were good to keep going with and have a series of videos coming up of a "52 week transformation week by week plant growth on low tech transformations" of all our aquariums which have endlers in them and you can see how they exploded over that time (as well as they plants with no co2 etc) so still have all our endlers and they will be in videos that way but not exactly completely focused on just guppies/endlers! That is not a L183. L183 doesn't have white spots on it's dorsal fin. The L183 have white seems on its dorsal fin and its tails. It can be distinguished from other members of the genus by looking at it's dorsal fin, which has one hard and 9 soft rays.

@@Aquadiction L183 have barely visible white spots. My male L183 is almost pitch black and bit bigger than this one. Yet it has blue tinted white seams on its tail and dorsal fin. What you've is a Brilliant Bristlenose L107/L184. Bigger spots than L183 and it's cousin L181.

Have some "three lined" to show off soon we have had for a while and HOPEFULLY some hocky stick pencils in the future if we can find them, as a kid they were always in the shops but cant find them to save our lives now!

I love me some Pencilfish 😍 These are amazing and I look forward to the day they come down a little in price. LOL price is subjective though. I did buy 4 Schoutedeni Puffers at around $125 each....at one time. Maybe because they are a "wet pet" and have a little size to them I can rationalize the cost. I asked for forgiveness and not permission when I made that purchase 🤭

I thought you wasn’t aloud to keep them outdoors?
@AquadictionАй бұрын
We brought them from a reliable uk fish shop that advertised them as pond fish so at the time weren’t aware! Shame really as the year they were out there they were highly prone to predating on their fry so didn’t increase in numbers and are so slow birds caught them easily! Seems odd they aren’t allowed but goldfish/carp are that are highly prolific breeders and much better at being spared by predators but hey ho
