Naa I prefer it with the 8.9L flat-six Lycoming engine as the R44. Sounds too generic and typical helicopter with a turbine. I prefer the little 6 cylinder 'Humm' as its clattering the blades and chopping.

Curious to know the status of this airplane today. I received a ride in this airplane back in 2002 when it was based in California.

as a 310R owner i know whats entailed in maintaining a twin Cessna...not sure where you are located but from what ive seen of TAS aviation and the work they've done for Kevin and Jamie over at 310 Pilot here on you tube...TAS is top notch...especially for a bird you fly the family in and plan on keeping 30 years enjoy and fly safe TAS Aviation; 419.658.4444; tas-aviation.com

1 year after this video, what has your experience been so far with the 320?
@corndoggj13 жыл бұрын
I still like it. It's alot of airplane to maintain and keep clean. Going fast requires fuel. Insurance is over 5k a year and that's the biggest negative to twins. I fly a Cessna 175 also and it's much easier to own and operate. But, not fast..... The reason I bought this plane is I wanted a 5 or 6 seat family cruiser. The plane sat for 25 years and is a flying project. Needs new radios and the engines are high time. I plan to own it for 30 years....

What engine does it have? Sounds like an io-720
@corndoggj14 жыл бұрын
A 320D has 2 TSIO520-bb engines. The sound is mostly 3 blade propeller noise turning at 2700 RPM at takeoff. The turbochargers absorb most of the engine noise. Immediately after takeoff engine RPM is reduced to 2350 and later 2200. It gets much quieter in cruise flight.

Nice plane! How short can you get the takeoff/landing? I’m looking at one of these myself
@corndoggj14 жыл бұрын
I would say 600 ft takeoff and 750 landing roughly depending on conditions of course. They r an honest airplane. The engine is reliable but certain parts can be difficult to get. Most r still available
