I just got this done 9/19/24 and I had a flare reaction that caused me to be in the hospital, on crutches, then on steroids, and after all that I go to physical therapy. And to top it all off, my knee still sticks when I bend.

Work ok if your arthritis has not progressed too far, and they are expensive . If you have severe bone on bone forget it. Get the TKR.

I’ve been trying to push my insurance company to do that but they refuse. The first thing they’ll tell you is to get weight loss surgery. I’ve also had Cortizone injections but I’m on my way to get my first gel. They said it was supposed to be $40because that’s what my co-pay is but I’m seriously doubting it

PRP injections are also very good for the knee joint, but you need to do at least 3 injections do get longer lasting relief.

I just learned that today at my orthopedic surgeons. So bone on bone right now I heard that you have may have to get gel up to five times! I hope I stop being terrified.

@@FabioPradoLimathank you! I’m doing great. 14 weeks post op. ACL was tested and is already solid. Still missing about 2-3 degrees on extension (a little hyperextension) and at about 110 degrees flexion. Dr says it’ll come and I feel confident it will. Minimal scarring, strength still good though some quad atrophy. I’m very happy with the progress so far
