I love the Clancy's, but NOBODY will ever beat Luke Kelly's version of this song.

Would you by any chance know of an available tape of Bobby singing An Bunnan Bui on Telefis Eireann? In a strange way that led to a connection between my family and the Clancys.

My old family business booked Ronnie to perform when the Dubliners were on a break. Pardon the pun but Ronnie drew a small crowd that night and when I went to negotiate with him over his fee and bear in mind I wax about 18 or 19 at the time, I will always remember what he said to me - now listen sonny, there’s no point in you making it a bad night for both of us !!

They were mighty men. I don't know if it is the end of an era ' but they were a huge loss. There are still traditional singers' so with any luck these songs will survive.

Met him in Dublin at an obscure pub he was playing and met his gorgeous wife. Met him again 8 years later at irish Fair in so calif. We chatted about the time i met him in Dublin. He and his wife were incredibly down to earth people. He had no ego about being a famous singer. He was a real man.

Isn't there some way to discourage members of the audience from clapping in time while the musicians are performing?!!!!

I remember Great Memories of the Flying W Ranch in 1981-82. I think with the original band members were still there in 1999. Rest In Peace to Wes English and Sam Nicole (The Fiddler) I Loved the song Sam Nicole played which was the Flaming W. I don't know if anyone else passed away or not. I remember in 1981 when I first heard Western Music and I Loved It! I remember buying my first and only Vinyl LP Record "On The Trail" When all the Wranglers signed it. I much enjoyed the meal and I was so hungry! I went with a Church Group to Colorado Springs Colorado. I remember staying at Glen Eyrie Discipleship Conference and Queens Canyon bordered the propety for which the Navigators ran the Conference where a Castle is there. Moving forward to 2012 something horrible happened when a Forest Fire just destroyed the Flying W Ranch! Glen Eyrie though was untouched! I remember when people were seeing flames around Queens Canyon, I guess the winds shifted so Glen Eyrie was not touched. It took years for the Flying W Ranch to rebuild and then the next thing was the Pandemic to complicate things and restoration projects to protect from Flood and Erosion of the Waldon Canyon Forest! The Waldon Canyon Forest Fire Of 2012 Is Still An Open Case With No Resolved Answers On How It All Started! Anyhow The Flying W Ranch Is In Operation Again And Took Years To Rebuild. To This Very Day There Is Still Reminders On What Happened In 2012. There Was A Great News Story Of What Happened A Decade Later From That Horrible Forest Fire And Still Unsolved Answers In Hopes There Would Be A Lead In The Case!
