Some correction: I) The Grubbs cat was first discovered in 1995. II) Grubbs carbene is like Fischer electrophilic, see, Romp chain terminating agent and Grubbs, JACS, 1996 Iii) Formal oxidation state method to classify carbene Complexes are not educative, rather use CBC method of Green, Schrock carbenes of group 5 and 6 do not have highest formal oxidation state according to Eda analysis, see G. Frenking, Chem. Eur. J 2009. IV) The acyl complex intermediate in Fischer carbene synthesis has to be protonated before methylation with CH2N2.

Few key points: I) The enantioselection is in kinetic control, II) the enantiomeric excess does not depend on the activation energies as taught but on the Curtin-Hammer quantity, deltadeltaG. iii) ee can be aslo rationalized by Knowles Quadrant Diagram, simply on the steric ground. Iv) the active species is not 12VE as taught. V) olefins chiral faces lead to diasteriomeric Rh-olefin adducts. VI) ee is inversely proportional to temperature. Thank you Ujjal
