Interesting plot

Is there a reason why this is 3hrs long and doesn't finish its plot? It's not only annoying, it's weird, because one of the main highlights of this show is that this couple was ALWAYS together, sticking by each other and sticking up for each other. -__- This version of the plot STARTS OUT the same as another one with a veteran couple pair, but then takes a completely different direction with different plot arcs. These two together are super funny, but they were such a WHOLE unit, I hate that they dashed that in the end.
