I am planning to study different grafting techniques applied in coffee, what's the best variety to use for Rootstock and scion? Thank you.

I was a coffee growers in Guyana. It grows very fast there. No grafting. We leave one tree to drop it's seeds n they grow in abundance. In the rainy seasons I just pulled it out of the wet soft soil n replant. Start to produce coffee in about 3 years maybe less. I break off the tip when it's about 4ft high n the tree spreads out more.

Tom Greenwell is the Robert Mondavi of Kona coffee. I lived and worked in the Napa Valley wine industry for decades. Robert Mondavi (whom I knew well) took the approach that instead of competing with each other, local growers and family wineries should cooperate with other to boost quality and promote Napa Valley as a source of great wine. A rising tide raises all ships. I'm so happy to see that Greenwell Farms is working under the same philosophy! I live here in Kona and I am proud to recommend Greenwell Farms to visitors.

Nice! Salute to farmers like you who not only plant coffee to provide for the family but also to help in watershed restoration and wildlife preservation. People may not see it now but your efforts will have positive long term impacts for the surrounding community.

Thank You for the great video. You said that the coffee does not develop it's taste until it's five or six years old. I assume you are talking about the plant even with stumping.
