Демо не совсем удачное. На канале Synth Anatomy поинтереснее звуки, басы попробивнее. Синты от Waldorf способны создавать интересные узнаваемые звуки, такие как синтезаторные партии из трека Pyramyd- See you in other side. Похоже там использовались Microwave или XT. Долгое время интересовал вопрос на чём сделаны эти партии. Услышал знакомое звучание, когда послушал демки синтов Waldorf - Xenia от usual suspects (эмуляция Microwave XT). И этот Microwave 1 тоже может выдавать такие звуки.

Ещё есть крутой трек Amount- Three Sisters. Синтезаторные партии похожи на Waldorf синты. До этого ко всем синтам от Waldorf относился скептически, тоже звук казался пластмассой (кроме Pulse), пока не услышал правильные демки с правильными пресетами. Их синты уникальны.

Thanks. If you mean the melodies, they are mine. If you mean the synth sounds on that particular demo, they are selected presets from several soundbanks with sometimes some tweaks. I play only presets/sound I like and inspire me.

Agree but you can reduce it. In the settings of Xenia (Right click on the synth), setup the latency on 2 (my case) or more).

Go read the instructions on the website, all steps must be done in order, but worth it, it sounds awesome.

I got it working as a vst. I tried Vst3 and component did not work. I use blue cat audio plugin to run it in logic

Mac OS System Settings: Security and Privacy - it will ask you to "allow" it to run.

In fact it's very high on CPU... to reduce CPU impact, first use the snow firmware instead of ti. Second, setup the latency on 2 (my case) or more) in the settings of the synth.

@@crazik mine uses less cpu than diva

@@partlysimpson5154 yes but the actual cpu requirement of the actual virus code, is very small. This emulator uses 10x or more cpu in the process of emulating the dsp chips. If ported right the virus code could run on a raspberry pi easily.

I had one inthe late 80s and sold it then bought one early 00s and LOVE it ! No the VST does not sound better and the programming is not that hard once you bet used to the extra button push

So glad I never sold the second one I bought after I missed the first one and not this one does not sound like the Soul of sixTrak at all. Overall FB does great emulations though. And you can't argue with the price.

Good try but ive checked it out, same sound in hw-virtual and sw-virtual and its 200% the same fucking sounding synth. not duller not harsher, and arpeggiator clocks better on the software. i still keep my harwdare one, mainly for cpu eating reasons.

Wrong. Just like the ostirus IS a Virus using the real FW so is this MicroQ, the real deal not a copy, facsimile or fake its the actual FW being used.

They're not that expensive. I got a yellow one a couple of years ago for €370. The condition is very nice, except for one rack ear because Waldorf use very thin metal. (Let's not talk about what happened to my Microwave II during transport.) From what I gather, the emulation is just as good as the hardware. After all, they only had to emulate a Motorola 56300 series DSP.

And comparing to a 20k Buchla or euro system doesn't count.

its abso not dull on my side, it tends to be harsh instead, like the hw. but, dont take it for granted, my ears are fucked up.
