I much prefer the big brother of this model. I have an older version of the EU 7000 is. I love mine & extol its virtues to anyone willing to listen. There is no better endorsement than from an owner. I bought mine 7 years ago from a Honda dealer brand new. I have ours to back feed our house when the power goes out. It will even run our 2-1/2 ton Trane central air. I will admit I have a soft start kit on my central air condenser. What a lot of people don’t know is that Honda generators are conservatively rated down in capacity. I have tested mine & it will deliver up to 9200 watts before tripping out. It’s rated at 5500 watts with a 7000 watt surge. With my entire house on I typically run at 3650 watts at 240 volts. That’s a 27 cuft freezer. A 27 cuft refrigerator. A 19 cuft refrigerator. We have a propane stove & dryer. With an after market auxiliary fuel tank of 6 gallons I got 42 hours of run time. The Honda has electronic fuel injection so it syphons fuel from the auxiliary fuel tank at the same rate as the main tank. Here’s the last big endorsement. I’m a power lineman for the local power company. I trust the Honda to start every time on the first start. That’s very important for my family. The last thing I want to hear from my wife is that the generator won’t start? It’s the best generator money can buy. It’s the only one I trust in a roll out. In all my travels I’ve only seen one like mine back feeding after a storm. After storm Isais in the northeast I came home in the morning after working a 24 hour shift to a warm shower & a cool house on our Honda. I slept like a baby until it was time to go back to work. We were out of power for 3 days & the Honda never let us down. It ran the entire three days without interruption. I only had to refuel the auxiliary twice. We burned 22 gallons of gas. I was impressed! If you want to see it running in my enclosure? Look at my home page & watch the two videos I have. It’s ultra quiet at 54 decibels on economy. 58 decibels non economy.

All you people complaining that it'll throw rocks and stuff at WOT need to learn how to use a trimmer. The line should never touch anything but grass. If it touches the ground, you're digging in the dirt, often useful, but hardly a job for a string trimmer.

Some time ago, me and a buddy got together to start a small Lawn Mowing business on the side of our main jobs. It was my first time to own a String Trimmer, and since we were "professionals" I oped for what was considered the best that the time. He used to get irritated at me because, without meaning too, I would run my trimmer at full throttle while trimming. "Back off the gas", he would tell me. I didn't know any better so I tried. Now I find out I was actually doing it right. Ron? Are ya listening?

If you are running any kind of high end electronics, you had better get an INVERTER generator, dirty electricity produced by regular generators will burn up many appliances with circuit boards. Do your homework on dirty electricity.

Yesterday I took out my brand new Champion generator added oil, and gas and attempted to start it. Guess what, it would not start. I am a job site with no power and loosing money by the minute. Called Champion and was on hold for an hour before I got technical help. After another hour of pulling this wire, that wire, draining gas, etc tech advised me that they would send me a new Voltage, Fuel, and Oil diode in hopes of repairing the generator. I should get it in 5 to 7 days. Moral of the story....Spend the extra on a Honda, especially if you'll need it in a emergency.

Pull the spark plug out and put a small amount of gas in the cylinder chamber. Then re install the spark plug. It should start right up. If it quits running then either your fuel is shut off, or you have a issue with the carburetor. If it's a inverter generator the holes for the fuel in the carb at the points are so small that any trash from inside the gas can clog it. Including dried stuff from the ethanol inside your gas can itself. My Pulsar 2200 watt inverter generator stated to not want to start when I tried to run it. I ended up buying a couple brand new gas can, and then bought the very expensive premium non ethanol gas to put in it. After pulling the spark plug, and getting it started. I ran it for about 4 hours, and now it starts and runs without a issue. I'm not sure if you purchased a inverter generator, but those really hate running gas with ethanol, and even small pieces of trash can stop them up. Also most inverter generators have to be level. They have a safety shutoff in the oil to keep the generator from starting or running when the generator is at a angle. Since the oil level is off when they are not level the sensor thinks that there is no oil.

Hes right about the spark arrester but just remove it, hes wrong about running wide open, u have to only go as needed on the throttle or u will wreck shit,hes a repair man that wants u to wreck your trimmer so he can charge u for repairs from bad advice he gave u, on wide open u will go through massive amounts of string too, give throttle as needed if it takes it being wide open to cut the grass then yes but if not needed ur are much better off nursing that throttle, i only restring my trimmer maybe three times a year and it’s around ten years old never needed any repairs other than a spark plug and air filter, done myself

I am using a trimmer with a four stroke engine, this just reinforces the reasons to be using one.Plus its quieter, It might be a little heavier but not having to mix and store 2-stroke gas - plus the clogged carburator issues, deterioated fuel lines makes it work for me.
@jayytee80624 ай бұрын
Nonsense. 4 stroke can suffer from deteriorated fuel lines and clogged carburetors just the same. 2 stroke is easier to repair and service than 4 stroke. You sound like a vegan.

I would like to see a video on proper use of the throttle on a gas string trimmer. Some people think the throttle should be nursed up and down, high speed for just a few seconds then let off, and repeat. Some think it is best to keep it running at full bore for quite a while. What is the best for proper engine life, and for cutting the grass/weeds?

I used Aspen fuels for all my power equipment for years, it was very good. It was expensive, but it seemed worth the cost. There was no trace of carbon buildup on any of my machines. The stores near me put the price up last year to $50 for the 5 litre jug, so I stopped buying it and went back to regular fuel with Echo Red Armor oil.

F**k California! Glad I’m not from or currently live in that state. Our current administration along with the states terrible governor are dragging it to hell. I honestly think California is the reason why there was any carb an epa regulation on gas equipment throughout the US period. Than slowly other states followed suit. The gov and this administration doesn’t realize u need choice in this country what would best for u and or your business. Them almost out right telling us without really telling us that soon u won’t have a say or choice anyone on different things. Is really only just the start of changing the US into a socialist and or communist country. Biden bitching saying Trump would be a dictator if u would win. What the hell does he think he is.
