Tight playing from Paddy in harvest home. Lovely playing. Unusual chanter. Sounds great. Fair play, your playing is improving all the time. Love the tone you get. It's unique to your playing. Noone can match that. Those huge reeds.

The first time I met Paddy, he arrived to pay respects to my grandfather at his funeral. He and my uncle have played together many times, and has been a living connection back to the island in a way. I played some of Paddy's music during my wedding two years ago; before and after our hand binding ceremony. Absolutely wonderful.

In Greece we have similar melody in villages of Drama/ East Macedonia called "Lazaritsa" (λαζαρίτσα)

Interesting, in Irish music we have different variations of melodies, often depending on the region and they can have different names, depend where you are.

Actually I’d to point out in the beginning of the video you spelt my great uncle paddys name wrong but have it correct in the title secondly who claim he’s playing the bagpipes but he’s playing the uilliean pipes bagpipes are Scottish not irish uilliean pipes are irish no hate just wanted to let you know

I too, like the squawk quality of pipes, but it HAS to be played in tune, and in time. This is weak playing! Listen to Davy Spillane or Liam O'Flynn to hear the difference. Paddy has no rhythm and no sense of timing. Plus he struggles to keep up and plays out of tune. The squawk isn't "out of tune", in fact you have to be in relatively good pitch in order for those inherent squawk sounds to come out. The tuning problem is due to how hard the air bag is squeezed. The same problem occurs on wind instruments where the player either blows too hard or too soft.
