Barbie was really interesting mid 00s-10s, just when I was either “way too old for dolls” or “an adult that shouldn’t buy dolls.” I regret not buying some of the amazing dolls made during this period. Barbie is definitely in need of a renaissance.

Mattel & Hasbro REALLY need to have more confidence in creating and releasing stage shows based on their toy properties for the U.S.

For more live shows based on doll franchises, the Raggedy Ann musical immediately comes to mind (there's even a whole documentary on it). Though since it's from back in the 80s and Raggedy Ann's not really a fashion doll, I can see why it wasn't initially covered here

Great video! Just want to clarify something about the Winx Club On Tour show (because I grew up watching the dvd) is that the Dutch version of the show does seem to have a different plot than the Italian version! Even though they share (some of?) the same songs. From what I can tell the Winx Club Power Show seems to also revolve around a young girl discovering Magix, but the Dutch version focuses on the Winx battling the Trix. It's very interesting 🤔

I remember seeing the Barbie princess and the pop star live show with my friend. We got to meet the actors at the end and I was really nervous

Im from Indonesia and I saw a lot of the advertisements for the MLP stage show. I remembered begging my mom to let me and my sibling to watch it but the ticket prices were kinda expensive and my mom wouldn’t let us. I was so sad 😢😅

This was very informative. I remember the occasional "Barbie on Ice" type of show growing up in the 90's but didn't realize they got so elaborate or were so varied and far reaching. Amusingly the video I watched prior to this was about a hard to find musical called ThunderCats Live!
