I used to live on the Chandler Estate in 1974-1975. Mrs. Chandler used to go for a swim most days at that beach. She was probably about 80 years old back then.

That's neat! I lived there too, from 1978- 1980, what a trippy place it was! I was on the third floor and my wall was all a big window and I could see every sunset over the water for three years! it was funky and the cops NEVER came into our zone! And old Lady Chandler still went swimming, and she would actually bang on my door every moth for her $135 bucks rent!

It’s funny every time I google a place that my friend asks me to meet up at to go hiking your blog always comes up. Thanks for writing about these hiking spots on Long Island. It’s helped a great deal.
