#1 stop working for agencies. There is tons of money in social work, grants, and insurance. It’ll disgust you to see how much your agency brings in and how low it pays. You will find that the licensing board members all have a huge financial stake in getting rid of anyone who walks away from the system of low wages, extortion, and embezzlement. About 90% of places I worked for resembled human trafficking.

I have always wanted to have my own business. I’m a holistic health nutritionist, but I am also currently studying social work. I plan on getting my bachelor’s for sure. Get experience working in the field and then maybe pursuing my Master’s, but I know I want to combine nutrition and social work. Not sure how or where yet. Some social workers travel to make extra money. I heard to be a travel social worker and get travel contacts you need to be licensed.

Actually today I spoke to the college of social worker and they strictly told me that I will not work as a social worker if I don’t have the licence.

I earned my BSW then went and got my MSW. I’m a LMSW and only qualify for entry level jobs with low pay since I have no experience. I gave it about 2 years then I went ahead and got my CDL. Kind of wish I made that move earlier and not wasted my money on a social work education.

I have being a social work entrepreneur since after college as a real estateinvestor and more. I am glad to see social workers are now elevating with their mind set about making more $$$$

I appreciate this video. I am a caseworker, and being there for people is good, but companies really know how to pile it on and then claim "nonprofit" when you ask for a raise or another company car. I know you know what I'm talking about. It took me about a year to realize that I am basically a cheap middleman for the insurance companies. Like you said you face a "moral dilemma". I am destined to help people, but I am not destined to be broke. Definitely a subscriber to your channel.

I received my M.S.W., passed the license test, and also was never offered any position in Social Work. Either I needed to speak another language besides English, or I had to have actual professional experience besides internships. Plus the Graduate School I went to on the East Coast, very well known and respected, offered zero support in helping find a job..I was told to look for jobs on the "job board" when I told the dean how difficult it was for me. I graduated with honors...didn't seem that she cared at al...I find that this whole license requirement is a scam...perhaps to support organizations like NASW that have courses on how to get your credits to renew your license andor pass the license test. If you can provide a transcript of your MSW degree, why is a "license" needed?? you are not dealing with surgery....it is very frustrating as I worked at NYU Stern School of Business and One of the goals of the school is to ensure that 95% at least of their graduating class have a job waiting for them upon graduation.!! I am sorry, but I think a social worker is more crucial to society than an MBA graduate! I gave up looking and let my license expire...very disappointing - no support at all...

Thanks for an excellent video! While I’ve always been a little embarrassed on NOT obtaining an MBA like many of my peers, I am also thankful every single day for my AA Degree in Business & Mgmt because even medical doctors, dentist and others who must establish a successful private practice, are clueless in all of the considerations (business plan, Coach, billing, niche clientele, etc.) for starting & sustaining a successful business practice. Banks are always looking for another leech. I've spent too much time on you. The American family is working record hours per week. We are the only industrialized nation with life expectancy in decline. Suicide, drug abuse, alcoholism, overdose, the prison colony syndrome is captured and destroyed incredible amounts families. This is quite an interesting discussion, financial social work. Before studying social work I've worked on various financial institutions as I have studied accounting. I wanted to be an accountant, however felt in love with social work. I always felt that there was a gap between social work and financial literary. I am planning to educate my self on this subject. I'm based in South Africa and can't remember hearing about this valuable information. Thanks for sharing ❤❤

I have needed a social worker and case management for at least since I graduated from high school in the Midwest with honors and especially the last twelve years that I became permanently disabled from medical negligences and medical abuse all these black social worker men and women on you tube talking about these issues within their field and yet all the money I have had and I have not been able to obtain one great social worker or case manager to advocate for me to help me out of the Midwest and from enduring all this racist oppressive Exploitative abuse.

I want my focus to be veterans..any advice ?
