Hello can you help me had an idea but I don't know if it could be feasible so I would like you to tell me what you think about it my idea is to make a little robot with the API of an image editing software that could scan all the images present in my database or directly on my WordPress site and replace all the images. I mean take me the existing images and remove the background and instead put me in white background

Hey, loved the vibe🙌! I'm not really sure if it is the best time to ask but, I was wondering if I could help you create a better distribution by working on post-production like better storytelling through Edits, Keywords, think catchy intros and outros, or even some engaging short clips! Would love to chat if you're interested.

Without any doubt, Cultural Japan is the best case study about the National Digital Heritage collection. I'm truly amazed. Excelent work based on a deep understanding of IIIF ecosystem.

Thanks for sharing for those who couldn't attend in person, I'm one :) I watched all the videos but I'm afraid that the after lunch session on 7 june is missing since I couldn't find some speeches that I was interested in. Also, KZbin says that in the playlist there are 10 videos but one of them is not available so it's hidden - maybe that's the one of the after lunch session (?) Thanks if you can help!

@8:30:00 you enter the H and W endpoint. Is there a technical document somewhere that shows the exact syntax? The browser bar isn't visible in the video. When I change 843, to 200, is reduces the pixel quality but I am looking for a way to format the images by height and width. Thank you!

Hi Suzanne, the technical doc for the Image API is here: iiif.io/api/image/3.0/ but you may also find these links useful as well if you want to know more about IIIF: www.learniiif.org/image-api/playground.html and training.iiif.io/iiif-online-workshop/index.html

Developing an iOS only app for IIIF looks pretty strange to me. The AR capability displayed in the video is so primitive, that is very likely to even work by using WebXR. The answer given why there is only an iOS version is strange, to say it friendly.

Maybe they used native Swift coding tools and did not get to the next step of cross-compiling for Android.

Hey thanks for the content! I am an information systems grad and just started getting into Open Educational Ressources. A friend of mine, which is working at the university doing history research just asked me about IIIF. I am hosting his history-blog with wordpress and was wondering if you guys have a simple "Plug-In" solution to make IIIF available for individuals with no "IS" Background. Kind regards, Sam

Hi Sam, probably the easiest plug and play option is to use the Internet Archive which provides images and manifests for their content. We have instructions here: training.iiif.io/iiif-online-workshop/day-two/image-servers/iiif-hosting-ia.html. Get in touch if your looking for a different type of solution.

Great talk thank you. In addition, I would like to say that most deep learning based image recognition practical algorithms are lead by Google and Tensorflow The ones provided by Facebook and Pytorch are more research oriented. You can find more about Japanese writings recognition here about.google/intl/en_us/stories/tensorflow-ai-japanese-culture/ and the available common use cases here (aka pre-trained models) www.tensorflow.org/resources/models-datasets

In the beginning (3:10 - 3:35), what seminal essay is he talking about? I have searched for "Ken Hammer", "Ken Hama Essay", "Ken Hammer Public Domain Essay Libraries Digitisation", etc. and found nothing useful.
