RacqualTaylor I don't really remember what Adam was like since it's been a while. But I remember the part where he looked into the mirror and all that, with the Temporary Blues playing, ace bandage, I really felt that. For me, I'm very convinced that I'm male, but to my parents maybe not so much. I'm not as forward or brave as Adam, but for the most part it's been the same. It's different for everyone though. Sorry for the paragraph~

I would cast not because the actor is transgender but because they can do their job justice. Character comes first.

I see your point, but as someone who has had experience working on film and fiction media, the bottom line of casting is whether the actor/actress can capture the spirit of the character. Whether that actor/actress is actually very similar to that character is secondary. I must mention John Travolta in 'Hairspray,' where he plays the main character's obese mother. Travolta is neither obese nor a female, and yet he was casted for the role because no one could quite play it like he did. Otherwise the role would have gone to someone else. Also, you need consider the possibility that none of the trans actors/actresses that auditioned could capture Adam's spirit, even if they were indeed trans. See, Adam Torres is more than transgender. He is a fully-rounded character who has a relationship with his brother and the rest of his family, a close friendship with Eclare and Fimogen, and a foil character for Becky. On most of these occasions, he wasn't the trans character. He was just Adam. Himself. That's what mattered more. So yes, totally acceptable casting.
