Great question! This was a workshop, so I didn't purchase it myself, but I believe it was a two-part clear epoxy resin. Our experience fits with that. In traditional kintsugi, artisans use urushi lacquer, a natural sap from the lacquer tree, as both the adhesive and finishing material, however, this is for more advanced classes as there can be some skin irritation risks with urushi.

Kids under 4 are technically free on European trains (in general), but this often means they don't get a seat. And sometimes (depending on the conductor) they must have a seat. So it is a bit of a grey area! For some popular routes seats are also required, but these can be as low as 10€. You'll need to judge based on the train segment (if it requires seats or just has general seating) and popularity of that trip.
