You know, you shouldn't handicap yourself with Tiger King as a reference to animal treatment within the circus. Because I'm positive that there are some animal distributors that genuinely treat the animals distributed with great care and respect and never resort to using cruelty methods like with Tiger King. Plus, if you recall from the 2 part American Experience Circus documentary, there are accounts of many elephants and their trainers within the circus, having very tender friendly relationships. Something to consider.

Ok third comment I think that's rather condescending to say circuses are for children only they were family entertainment which is why it was so popular right up until the time the animal rights groups lied about the conditions of the animals and had this show when many others closed

It's worth noting that the freak shows and the circus were actually separate although they performed in the same area. The freak show was the sideshow outside the tent

The reason why there is so many horror movies about clowns and the circuses is because the internet doesn't like the competition they want everybody on tiktok. Have a look at most circus videos and you'll see there's very few comments because they remove them

Yes unfortunately despite the fact that Ringling Brother's won the court case and proved that the animal rights people were making up all the sht they were saying, it's left the public with a stigmatism that shouldn't be there because it's all lies

One circus movie you need to watch is "The Greatest Show on Earth" it's a woderful movie and it fully captures the magic and the wonder of the circus as it once was.

It is the most condescending incorrect movie ever made about the circus. The ringmaster that's just having a chat then goes rushing into the ring as if it's just a play thing that anyone can do ,doing an entire 2-hour show in the first 3 minutes I simply couldn't watch it complete rubbish that only Hollywood can come out with

Nice vid. I live a 10-minute walk from the Stanley, so trust me when I say, there are many many credible ghost encounters that come out of the Stanely. A co-worker of mine used to work in the Stanely and was physically attacked by...something. She was shoved from behind by an unseen attacker that sent her flying 15 feet. The people in the next room heard the crash but then heard laughter and figured it was a joke so didn't run to investigate (she vowed never to go back after that but was convinced to tell her story on an ep of Ghost Hunters when they investigated the Stanley). My mother worked in another hotel in town and told me that at least once a month people from the Stanely would call in the middle of the night wanting to leave. Sure, the hotel uses the rep to draw people in. But the rep is not without foundation.

I've been here so many times, but NOTHING compares to when you are a child. This is every child's imagination! I was never frightened of it when i was younger. It was a million times more magical. My last visit there was for the Christmas exhibit, and if you think its odd or ecentric during normal season, just imagine all of this dressed for Christmas! The Christmas tour is actually only part of the whole house. Its best to visit either at Christmas or in the first portion of the season which i believe is closer to spring. I've gone in the summer and some spots can get a bit muggy and unbearable just depending on what time of the day it is when you get to them. As I've gotten older it has lost that childhood charm, but it us still fascinating and so much fun to speculate what is real and what isn't. Great video of one of my favorite places!

Kubrick from my point of view and watching many videos, was telling many stories at once in the film. The Wendy Theory, The Apollo theme, the Native American theme and others. Kubrick as you probably know, was an avid chess player, and photographer, as he got into film as an extension to those things. Like any great chess player, Kubrick could probably play multiple games at once. This is what he was doing in his films. 2001 was another masterpiece with symbolism that was brilliant. Check out Jay Weidner and Rob Ager.

I have brought kids from ages 6 to 17 and not one has found anything there scary or creepy, nor have any of them been bored. I think it's just because kids (and teens) perceive the world differently than adults. My daughter used to ask to go every year.

I am just on my knees in humble thanks for your charismatic work. You have a tact and grace about when describing the entirely ineffable. A soothing dream upon the ears characteristic of only poetry. Coalescing and intertwined is a deep, thorough investigative historical gravitas present because of what has to be the truly wonderful knack for investigative reporting you possess. So unbelievably informative, and I must say, tightly packed and concise. You use the valuable time you have asked from us so efficiently, bestowing a rich, diverse menagerie throughout time and space that is the twenty foot in diameter cherry effortlessly bobbing top the ice cream filled kiddy pool. I'm thrilled to have come across your work. In late 2019, I was possessed by The House On The Rock, making annual pilgrimages ever since. It is quite the muse of holy grounds, and you describe it better than any other. That talent is a sign post of creative achievement and I think it requires a broad and nuanced mastery of language that propels people capable of doing it into admiration. Treat it as that when you think of it. Captivating show, with an intrigue to it that pulled me in and kept me in suspense and at attention. With the allure of listening to banned airwaves, or an underground message a bit naughty to hear. Maybe the only historical echo for a bygone people and time that's propogated its survival through you alone. Your work is the only Ive come across that conveys so brilliantly the atmosphere and feeling of the time and people who built this temple, as I'm now surprised thinking about it; your mark is on that house forever. I love your mission of seeking the strange and mystical, and I am so pleased to benefit from the fruits of your labor. It is an inspiring pursuit that has called me to investigate as much as I can and document all of The Driftless. I thank you for that. And I didn't know about anything you revealed to me! I am so shocked and charmed by the story you have told. I was deceived by The Rock! And I'd never before thought of the juxtaposition between the harmonious and tranquil Welcome Center and opening gardens to the eerie and depraved abyss like spirit that lurks just past the boundaries of your sight deeper in The House. I have learned so much as to leave a heart content and full! Be that as it may, I am still hungry for much more from you. Do not give up on your pursuits, this is important work and you are so absolutely fantastic at making a video that is marketable, keeps my attention, is of a very high conceptual quality, is funny, charming, and full of persona that is entertaining! This is going to blossom. I am compelled by your mission to track these places out myself and to learn all that I may from their stories, thanks for your enlistment. Look unbelievably forward to seeing more! I do hope you have more The House On The Rock content planned for the future sometime as well. You're the best there is on the matter!
