Actually I have 11 in all. You're right, when they are out for their daily "fly time" I can't make a phone call and not just because of the "noise", they often jump onto me, my head, shoulders, and arms. Love your comment😍I have tried so many fruits and veggies and my birds rarely go for them in any big way. I also give them vitamins, and now Phoenix gets extra calcium in her water since I discovered she laid new eggs. I have done the sprouted seeds as well, mine eat some but not much. They all go crazy for corn. Next up I'm going to try sweet potato.

This is an often asked question of pet parrot owners. Actually mine do bite at times. They don't do so intentionally unless frightened, rather they are very tame and like to fly onto me and then begin preening me on the arm or neck, or nibble on my ear lobe. When they do they can be gentle but can also dig a bit too much with the sharp beak and so it becomes more of bite. When they do the best approach is to simply and immediately distract them (you must stop them). I usually do this by using a high pitched screeching sound or call saying "eeeeecccchhhh", much as if they might do when they are frightened. Often I will use my hand and gently nudge them away from where they are. The bites can sting quite w bit when they do it, but the worst is if they break the skin it takes some days to heal and sometimes leaves a spot. Thank you my friend. We started with just Phoenix and Woodstock and gave them the big cage, now it's 11 and I don't have room for more, lol. So, if i decided to let them breed again any new babies will be re-homed after hand feeding and weaning. Are you re-homing your babies now?

Thanks for your lovely comment. I find that while they all behave in lovebird ways they each have their own unique personality. Well educated but not always well behaved, lol. On any day they can be very cooperative, and next day they may be stubborn, even obstinate. Are yours like that? Happily all my birds show me great affection. But trying to get one to pose for a photo is near impossible. I'm sure our 7 are lovely, are they peach-faced, fischer's, or masked?

@@lovebirdsdelight Mine are exactly the same, sometimes it is hard to get them go "to bed". I have 4 agapornis roseicollis and 3 hybrids personnata roseicollis (the 3 are a present from my mum she did not know anything about lovebirds but never mind). They are all tamed and very affectionate. The youngest is 10 yo and the oldest are 11 yo. Time goes so fast.

Thanks for watching and your comment. Agapornis is the generic term for lovebirds as I understand it. Phoenix (green with red bandanna and rosy bib/chest) is a standard peach face. Lucky, Mango, Red and Peachy are all Fischer's, aka eye-ring lovebirds. As you know lovebirds like to perch at the highest point they can so they often perch on the fan blades, and of course curtain rods. Fortunately the blades are very hard so they really can't damage them. Cleaning the poop off of them is another matter, but the blades thankfully are removable and easy to clean. Thanks for watching

I normally do remove any tape, on the day I had just brought the delivery box in and set it on the table, then let birds out. Before I knew it they had descended onto it, so I had to start recording.
