Yeah, Bloomburrow is definately a very approachable set which is why I think it did well at bringing lots of new people into the hobby. I also really like all the Offspring mechanic along with a bunch of grouphug cards which make for some really fun commander decks. (also lmao at the Ygra comment). What was your favorite set of the year?

@@MoreDrongo-n6r for the reasons that it’s easiest for me to attract my friends to the game, I feel like Bloomburrow is my favourite set of the year. Also, I haven’t touched the other sets. My easiest way to understand a set is through a prerelease event at my lgs but I haven’t been to every set’s prerelease. Even then, duskmourn seems like a cool set. I’m pretty upset with the value of MH3 because everything good (of value) has been banned and therefore the boosters should be cheaper but aren’t. I don’t know much about the other sets. LMAO - Criteria was how impactful the launch felt to the community (from my perspective), how good the art was, how impactful the cards felt to the meta (though I only play commander so this weighting is pretty small for me) with some consideration given to the products in each launch and their reception. Would love to see how your tierlist comes out!

​@@MoreDrongo-n6rIt'd depend on the way I look at it, precon wise Fallout and Dusk were really great, MH3 and foundations set wise were huge. Bloomburrow felt like it hasn't done much since but is great to draft, otj was all round eh, mkm gave surveil lands and some of my favourite commanders this year but was a weak set overall... So many ways to look at it

Thanks so much for watching! I've been collecting Magic Cards since 2019 for the art and daggled occasionally with precons and starter decks that were around at the time. I've been playing Commander regularly since the start of 2024 and have started drafting my own decks and stuff for the last 5-6months. So overall fairly new but have definately been getting into it a lot more and have really enjoyed learning more as I go!

I'm Aussie based and Secret Lair solds out awhile back of these, it's just that mailing here takes a long time (esp near Christmas). The Christmas Card and Holiday Promos from Wizards is technically unrelated and was sent to Staff + Colaborators which just happened to arrive around the same time so I included it in the one video.

I go fairly in depth at the end of the video but for me I would say yes for a couple of reasons: - I don't have most of the cards in this deck and buying the singles would likely be close to the price as what I paid for the whole precon. - I personally value the art in MTG highly and from that perspective it's an outstanding deck. - Even if the deck is janky af (Which seems to be the main criticism I've seen online) I can still use the cards for deck building fun alterate win condition decks. - The cards in the deck at time of opening are a decent chunk more valuable than the actual deck themselves. Which could always go down but I think long term the art in this deck is unique, playable and cool enough that it'll become fairly sought after and maintain a good price (such as the Sol Ring, Revel in Riches etc). Hopefully that's helpful insights for someone who value art and already has an extensive collection this may not be worth splashing out on. But for me, someone who has a limited collection and value art highly. This one was worth it in my opinion! Thanks for watching!

If any (or all) what do you find more important (or are they equal ?) 😆

@a_viewer_on_earth1928 I think it's important to focus on what interests you primarily (and it's okay if that changes over time). Like orginally when I got into Magic it was because of the art and I only collected for that and didn't play. Now though I value adding cards I don't have to my collection a lot because I'm enjoying playing lots of Commander and making my own decks. In the future if I play less, it's nice knowing that some of the things I've picked up at a "Decent" price will still have some value regardless. Hopefully that makes sense! Thanks for asking!
