I will always remember these great times as a member of the Pride of Pantherland Band! Thank you for posting a wonderful memory as I was a freshman in this video.

I was a member of SOT in 1982. Anybody know where I can get a copy of the Album that SOT recorded that year?
@davepampe75183 жыл бұрын
I have digitized almost all of the SOT albums from 75-90. Just let me know how I can get you a copy.

Does anyone have any videos of the 1987 year. I was in THE SOT that one year and would love to see it
@christiansoldier1968 Жыл бұрын
Brad, I remember you. French horn!! I've never seen any video from 1987. This video was probably a copy from the the vids Mr. White kept in the sound room. Hope you're well. Ray Cooper. Trombone.

Still around but not the same as with the band. Sad, really. Should have never moved to the big leagues. Cant and nber will be able to compete with Alabama, FSU, and Penn State. Better to be a big fish in a small pond than the other way around. 40 years ago was thr hey day for this university and it's sports programs.

You know, if I wasn't accepted to LSU that year, I would have been spinning my rifle with you guys. I did audition for the band that year.

It was homecoming at NSU or something like that and the Sound of Today wasn't allowed to march at halftime, so they performed after the game...note the nearly empty stands on the far side but the stands on the camera side remained packed for the entire performance. Yes, it's the FireBird Suite.

I graduated from NLU in 1977 as a member of the Sound of Today and the band was just as good then as it was in this video clip. Loud, proud, and in tune! Four of the best years of my life!

as a band director of many years, it is sad to see the quality of SO MANY of our high and college bands in decline. This era was a golden age for marching bands. . . . . I salute you and your generation !
