I have had Basenjis since 1981. This film of Cooper is so beautifully made. It made me cry with happiness. There is no other breed that can match a Basenji. The perfect dog.

I have had one of these for about four years now, he was two when he came to me and totally by accident. He is only one of a long string of dogs that I have cherished, (seven of which are still with me.) His name is Cephas which is Aramaic for Peter. He also answers to Mouse, His ears stand up like a mouse. Not a day goes by where I don’t think of each and every one of them. Basenjis are so sweet they don't really hurt anything they just get their point across anyway. I wont hurt you but I could hurt you. Leave me alone!!! I don't want to play with you! I am not a puppy. I am older. I have different needs. Buzz off.

Basenjis usually roam around farms and the villages in Africa so this is very sad in an apartment 😢

Australian Dingo does the same I owned two brother and sister when I was a young girl and every time I left without them they would howl their faces off.

I have always since a young girl wanted a Basenji 40 years on I now am going to get two male and female. I have owned Australian dingoes who are just as loyal and unique

Edit: 6:51 my basenji was a show dog when she was younger too and she does that same thing when she lies down with us. PS: her name is Ginger and she's got two red/orange spots on the white band that goes from her neck to her snout.
