Great video, I had no idea that there was a seprate CAF other than the main HEPA behing the FRUNK. Will certainly try as there is beginning to be on odor sometimes when I use AC fan in manual mode.

Ok I don't think your getting what I'm asking. First I don't have the back up camera on my 2012 mustang V6 3.7l. my reverse lights are not working . When I splice in to the hot wire , where can I run that spliced wire to only get power or to illuminate the reverse lights when I put the car in reverse. Second question where in the hell is the reverse light switch located on a 2012 Mustang because I have purchased a new one
@CityHunt3R9113 жыл бұрын
The blue wire you see in the video is the reverse light positive wire, it get power only when you put the car in reverse. I tapped a after market backup camera to it so qhen you do put the car in reverse it gets power from the reverse light qhen it is triggered by shifting into the reverse gear. As far is where the switch is. It should be near the shifter but I'm not sure because I never really messed with that.
@rickolson56763 жыл бұрын
Where are you running the power line to or from
@CityHunt3R9113 жыл бұрын
The power line is already there I'm just tapping my camera into its power source to trigger the camera on qhen the car reverse light comes on
@rickolson56763 жыл бұрын
I am having the same problem where did you hook the power (your red wire) to in order to get power I mean what are you using as it source of power. I have spliced in to the reverse wire on the harness and have ran it to the license plate lights and the trunk release hot wires however the only time the reverse lights come on when using the license plate lights hot wire us when the lights are on and when spliced in to the trunk release hot wire the reverse lights stay on all the time. So where did you run your hot wire to because I am going to have to use that location. In order for my reverse lights to work.
@CityHunt3R9113 жыл бұрын
You use that wire that I use for the positive and you ground it to the metal on the trunk, ant metal clean bare surface works as a good ground. When you tap into the reverse lighy it only gives the camera power when you put the car in reverse you don't want it on the whole time because your camera will be on the whole time
@rickolson56763 жыл бұрын
Ok mine doesn't have the reverse on r back up camera. So should I run a wire from both reverse lights and then just ground it to the chasis
@CityHunt3R9113 жыл бұрын
@@rickolson5676 you only need to run one reverse wire to the back up camera. When the camera receives power, it sends the signal to the radio and the radio switched to view the cameras view. You can ground it anywhere on the cars metal surface.
@IEatBlackChildren3 жыл бұрын
Thank you this helped out a lot i have the same year mustang. For the ground wire did you just tuck it underneath the bolt and tighten it?
@CityHunt3R9113 жыл бұрын
Yeah I just used the same ground there as you can see it's just bolted to the chastity and it gets power when you shift car into reverse.

What about if you've installed aftermarket tail lights?
@CityHunt3R9113 жыл бұрын
the harness is still the same on the car same wire for reverse light
@johnbrowning94303 жыл бұрын
Hey, if I get a different pair of tail lights, will the reverse light wire still be in the same spot(upper left)? The plug is the same but the colors are different.
@CityHunt3R9113 жыл бұрын
I don't know, you can test it if you have volt Meter. You would probly have to have someone shift into reverse and check which wire get power or grounded sorry I couldn't be much help

@@CityHunt3R911 Is it the blue wire for a 2013 stang as well?
@CityHunt3R9113 жыл бұрын
@@leafaraguilera2868 I don't know for sure, if you have someone help you put the car in reverse, use a multi Metter to check to see if that wire has no power when not in reverse gear and has power when you shift it into reverse gear

Turns out there was a damaged vacuum hose around the intake manifold on the bottom side of the hose so I couldn't see it, A smoke machine would have been able to detect it. cost me 185 dollars to get that fixed at the dealership ... took them 2 days to find it. smoke test should cost a little under 100 alone.
@CityHunt3R91110 жыл бұрын
took it to Dealership replaced fuel tank cap. after 2 days of diagnosis they found out it was a leaking or bad hose with a hole on the side of it near the air intake housing in front of passenger side of thorttle body. cost $185

I took it to dealer turned out after a smoke test there was a hose that was punctures or rubs to the point of making a break in the line cant see from the top of the hood its on the left side of the intake manifold standing in front of the car facing it.

My 01 Civic DX has a check engine light which is getting the P1457 code but does not sound like that. For my situation, I replaced the EVAP canister near the gas tank which did nothing. A mechanic from work told me to change the EVAP canister purge valve, working on it now. Let us know what fixes yours...
