Based on personal experience it's just a marketing tool. I can't hear a difference. There are too many "high end" builders that don't offer string through body,I wonder why...

One of these will last a ling time. It only has white mineral oil on it. I replenish it instead of buying another.

The garbage quality is why i moved away from fast fret, mine didnt even last a month. In fact even china copied your old wood cotton design with actual metal container that looks more robust. Im utterly disappointed. Using dunlop instead.

Do I still have to make adjustments to the nut, action, etc? Maybe a dumb question, but I'm currently learning about the BEAD technique and noticed it requires making adjustments when buying the 5 string bass strings. So forgive me, I'm learning

Acoustic basses have many different sounds. Most of these videos of 'how to make your EB sound like UB are just working with taking the upper end off the sound. Probably a better approach is making your EB sound like a UB that is close miked. Also, consider the fact that no matter how good a UB player is, they will occasionally play a note slightly out of tune. EB players can't do this, the the constant in tune and consistant attack sound will take away from the UB emulation.

And now it has been changed, the whole thing. been using it for 35 years and now it is unrecognizable. new holder, new juice, new packaging.... moved to another product as this now does not work how it used to.

Since C and G guitar strings are both .040 tension, I just used another uke C for low G and the tones are the same. Good information. I want loud and great sustain instead of low and notes hidden. Interesting video.

Hi. Could GHS please issue packs of plain & wound strings separately? People mostly buy a new set because they break a plain string, often while the rest are still relatively new. I have a shoebox full of (good or new) wound strings... and judging by separates sold on eBay, I'm not the only one. If I buy 6 separate plain strings, it works at twice what I'd pay for a set, which is crazy because plain strings are cheaper in terms of steel & manufacturing. I'd be happy to still pay for 6 or more, especially if there's, say, 4 E$, a B$, & a G$ (or even 2 of each, which you could actually market as 'Nashville' sets). Surely it would be better for the environment also, because so many end up in landfill. Personally, I actually prefer to keep wound strings on longer because new ones are a bit too 'zingy' (the same reason people find older bass strings acceptable). Thanks.

Half-round is supposed to be reffering to the ground-wound, that start round and get one side ground off. Both are nice in their own way, pressure are more like a round with some of the high edge taken off, the groundwound have a bit of the flat sound combined with a bit of the round

Do you have a 4-string and feel like you want to play 5-string? Fear not! Just use these BEAD strings and get that sweet 5-string tone without the hassle of getting more gear!

Nice demo but here's the problem...I have no idea what an Airline Map bass is supposed to sound like with ANY kind of string. I would have liked to hear these on something a little more familiar like a Jazz or a Precision bass.

flats right out of the box are always bright. GHS are some of the least bright ever, only a bit on the D and G. if you try a brand new set of Pyramid or Thomastik, they sound like rounds :D

Did GHS solve the rust problem already? I've been playing Boomers for decades, and usually bought the Custom Light (GBCL, 09-46) in bulk. Unfortunately, although they're "MADE IN THE USA", wrapped individually, and packed in an airtight "Fresh Pack" (TM), the unwound strings are all heavily corroded with some black tarnish... This applies to the GBCL sets but also the GBTNT (10-52) and 7string sets I have. That's a LOT of money wasted, gone down the drain, because those corroded strings are simply unplayable. I sent an email asking about this, but no response whatsoever. Since some time I only buy from Pyramid, based in Germany. No issues yet, neither on their stainless steel strings (which are awesome!!) and regular nickel ones... But I quite liked the available gauges and longevity of GHS strings - well, at least, when they didn't come completely rusted out of a fresh package...

Just wanna say: I had my fast fret since 2010, still in the brown plastic tube, and with the wood handle (please bring back the wood handle :c) , i've used it almost every day, and stored it right away each time. It still works, somehow is still moist. Also i like to not wipe it off, i just do "wax no, no wax off" i'm wondering if i can buy a new one, detach the "head" and glue it to the old wood handle :P

are these titanium strings low tension? I'm a little confused why you would say low tension, when I look a the gauge I can find different strings with a lighter tension. Yet you say these are low tension.
