This book was thoroughly enjoyable, and its humorous inclusions made me laugh aloud. Imagine that, as I listened through earbuds, to any accidental witness. I also appreciated the fact that at the writing of this book, Neanderthal DNA hadn't yet been found in the DNA of most Europeans and the James Webb telescope hadn't yet been deployed to reveal its breathtaking images of our astral neighborhood. In listening to this narrarator, I also wondered how many listeners also thought of Burgess Meredith.

Took me 1.5 days . This was such a great book 🥲

It's difficult to continue when he cites the old misunderstanding of 50 different words for snow. If his work is no better researched than a pile of hearsay, it feels like a waste of time.

Everything is important in this series but man, is it ever difficult to care about what's going on in Tanchico with Elayne and Nynaeve, especially when it breaks up more interesting plot threads. At least the spoiler they're looking for results in some interesting development later.

Such a slog man. I started reading the series in 2017 back when I was 19, and read the first 7 books in a years time. Got to this book and put it down, unable to continue, 7 years later I am trying again, and am almost done by listening to this novel through this video. I can't wait for it to be over so I can move on to better books in the series

Its an interesting book, re-reading it again as i write this. Considering how many people lived in England and the Americans hadn't yet been found, the majority of us white anglo Saxon Brits will, somewhere, have unrecorded ancestors who were living and breathing at the same time as William Shakespe. The population then was only 3-5 million, depending on wars/plague.

Gods, could the women go one book without getting kidnapped? It’s so tiring hearing them get taken time after time. RJ is a great writer indeed, but I think he fumbles more than not with Elaine and Nynaeve in these first five books so far.
