Love these biographical snipits. Little windows that paint of what it was like to live in their world outside the historical narrative. Why was he considered a weak or bad leader? I get that he lost a battle, but did i miss something else?

love these videos, just wish they were longer. I get that a lot of them are just describing a minor, rarely discussed office or person, but this one is a big deal. Would love more on why was it written, what exactly did it say, what was the result, how has it resonated through history, how did other orders react, what does the church say about it now? etc

I know this is a pretty niche topic and not likely to get many views, but i love these little biographical histories. We often forget history is full of real life people who walked, loved, and fought to forge that history. Particularly these lesser known people. Few people will see on a test "Name the 15th Grand Master of the Templars", but he is no less important. You don't become a grand master without being an impressive person and without having a story to tell. (I'm fascinated to hear more about his life. and the idea that the Templars and Hospitlars were both led two brothers. What were the odds? What does that say of them? That had to be interesting.)

All the great men of Reformation (Martin Luther - Jan Hous - Knox - Tyndayle etc) in the era of 1500-1700 agreed that the antichrist is the Pope and the beast of Revelation is the Catholic church. And surprisingly there is not even one movie of Hollywood for this era. Nor is it mentioned in the books of history in schools. This era is completely erased. Now you know what they want to hide. In any case please read Revelation 13:5 ''And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: ... And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue 42 months.'' In the Biblical times a month had 30 days. So 42months (x) 30 days = 1260 days. However in Ezekiel 4:6 + Numbers 14:34 God gives one year for every day. So we have 1260 years for the beast. In 538 AD. general Belisarious of the emperor Justidian enters Rome and proclaims the Pope first among all bishops. So Middle Ages officially begin. in 1798 AD general Berthier of Napoleon sends the Pope into exile, catalyzes papal power and officially ends the Middle Ages. Do the math plese. 1798-538 = 1 2 6 0 years. The system of the Catholic church is the beast !!!

Interesting channel I found, I wonder how familiar you might be with the Order of Christ, the Portuguese order founded in 1319 to harbor templars escaping Philip IV of France and the Pope. If you're not familiar with the close ties between Portugal and the knights templars then you might find it odd, but Portugal was an important nation back then and their first king was a templar himself. The Order of Christ still exists albeit not in full capacity and their grandmaster has been the King or President of Portugal since 1420. I'd rather not go into more detail because I'd just bore you if you are familiar with it, otherwise that's a nice spiritual and historical research to dive into on your own if you're interested.

Yes. I'm familiar with that order. I talked about them briefly here: www.travelingtemplar.com/2024/06/the-templar-city-of-tomar.html

@@TravelingTemplar Nice to see! Very focused on Tomar specifically. Afonso Henriques, son of a crusader, was partially raised by templars and called them brothers, so it's widely accepted that he was probably a templar king and Portugal was the first templar nation.

So, here’s the “get the pitchforks and torches” question: Who currently holds the documents for the rituals of the other 32 degrees, and how can they be obtained by members?

They published them a few years back but they sold out almost immediately. I've been pushing to get them published again. At GEKT, I was going to talk with the Grand Preceptor and Deputy about getting it republished.
