Yeah they're definitely way bulkier and heavier than they need to be. The Ametek 115923 is the motor i've seen in the few samples I've had open I wonder why your 3rd one has stronger specs. Eh i'm not too fond of the Sebo ET-C and I often will use a powerhead on hard floors out of laziness.

It had it's novelty but i've been doing it for 8+ years so it's routine by now.

@@Blackheartvacs It's a bloody nightmare to get vacuums with Electric brushes. The only new vac I can think of with these powerheads that aren't stick vacs is the Sebo K3, E3, D3 Premium. Lindhaus is kinda hard to get, you gotta buy through hotel equipment sellers and Miele no longer sells the once sold C3 Complete Electro with the same WesselWerk head as this, but mains powered. I guess it's because we usually don't have wall to wall carpets. At least not in continental Europe just a little bit in the UK.

That would be a decent combo. If i recall correctly Nacecare has been selling their products with it and the corded models + nozzle get a gold rating from the CRI where cordless models get a silver which for a cordless machine is pretty good.

Oh yeah! and the airflow retention that should occur. 3D printing has a lot of potential uses. I have been designing pieces to mate a eureka style upright to a backpack. Hard to say when i'll actually get those printed and implemented though

It was certainly unusual which is why i decided to document it. Unfortunately this motor is non serviceable it has a large rounded piece over the fan and the final piece of the separator doesn't appear to come off.

5 years seems pretty good by modern standards. I do agree though part of it is that these older models spun at a lower rpm meaning a much slower wear rate. They are quite lacking in user conveniences though.

Are the inner workings the same? Like the motor and what not. i've suspected that they are but was unsure.

@@Blackheartvacs The motors (and the entire top end by extension) are the same on those I believe, it's just the cleaner head is shaped differently more to resemble the look of a traditional Aerus Electrolux.

Oh you just need to change the adapter at the top of the fill tube. Part 190484 is the round style used on the heritage II and is compatible with the twist on hepa bags. This particular Heritage also had the leather like fill tube (cloth-like exterior, leather interior) so i replaced that too, part 190384 IF you need it.

Eh my luck with that has been limited but the impact driver works fine so no need for me to do it manually, a good tip for those without one though!

@@Blackheartvacs yes in fact i wear cutproof gloves and use a ratchet wrench to loosen that nut off so that way i am able to remove the nut so i can deeply clean the motors out

To each their own. The high cost of replacement is my main reason for disliking them. Yup I'd assume these were like the very top trim model.

@@Blackheartvacs yes its one of those led bulbs that twists and push into place that have two stubs on both sides mine is a whirlwind limited plus and it has the halogen bulb on it the bulb still works but i have been looking for an led bulb for it

Feels a little trollish there's no way you could fit 3 fan stages into that fancase i've had like 2 of the MG2s with the vm3 they are clearly a single fan motor.

Oh that's interesting. I've never seen them before now. I can't seem to find a listing for part number 8174931 but that's the original part number for the 4 row, what is the part number for the 2 row ones you're mentioning? This doesn't need a replacement i'm just curious about them and their availability. I also checked the current 31150 elite out of curiosity and i'm still only seeing the entire assembly for those.

Oh this doesn't have an inducer motor. I think i've only ever seen inducer ones in a version of the intuition, the 800 series canister and the Elite upright. It is a single stage motor though. Yup I've got it disassembled and the nut came off the fan shaft so I'll be able to fix this at least provided I can reconnect the metal....prong that pulled out along with the connector on the motor. Thanks for the advice on the micro switch i'll try to keep an eye on that during reassembly

another thing rainbow was never conceived exclusively for carpets. kirby aims mainly for carpets so it has a higher cfm at the nozzle, but the continuity of the airflow on the rainbow is more constant thanks to not having a bag with pores to get clogged. Another important point is. The faster the air moves with the higher airflow the more the HEPA filter is able to trap. Rainbow is better in terms of whole house cleaning including indoor air quality. Overall you will get a cleaner home with rainbow and with kirby you will get more deep down carpet cleaning but you end up having bag smell and fine dust and bacteria returning to indoor air.

@@TheCristianotube There's a lot to go through here so excuse me if I don't get to all your points. I'd first like to point out that 100 cfm figure given is most likely a Motor spec. Motor specs are often quite different from what we see when the unit is all together and we experience resistance caused by the design of the vacuum and by it's components like the hose. As for the airflow box, It's not perfect I know that, but it's a consistent way to measure the power at the floor where it matters most. I look at those figures as more of a ballpark rather than a fact. The original nozzle that came with the SRX was extemely leaky resulting in low figures for both airflow and suction. I think it would do a little better with their "rollback" nozzle. Rainbows will have more constant performance, sure, but their performance will also degrade due to them having a hepa filter, now the SRX uses a rather large one so this may take quite a bit of time to occur, there is such a think as non water soluable dust things which won't really get trapped by the water bath like talcum powder and some other materials I cannot remember at the moment. In addition to that you'll also have all the upkeep of having to fill, empty, and clean the unit each time to you it. There's a tradeoff to be made. It does have great versatility, especially if you are willing to shell out the extra $$ for the optional accessories, but in terms of cleaning carpet I'd rather use the machine that has like 3x the airflow at the surface. In reading what you have had to write you sound like you're involved with Rainbow. I get that you'd have a bias towards a machine which is your livelyhood, but ya know they could have done better than the SRX. I'd easily take the previous model over it despite some of the improvements

Our time with them is limited, sometimes more than we know it will be. But the happiness and love they give us in that time outweighs the sorrow of their loss

Thank you. I'll likely end up getting another cat. Just having 1 now my apartment feel so empty. I know though that no one can truly replace him as they are all unique. We see traits in them that may remind of us past pets but our connections are never quite the same.

I know we have to put their wellbeing first and with his issues a relapse was likely. I know it was the right decision. I will miss him but i'm thankful for the time we did have.

Typically when I've seen vacuums take off they're in the upright position, makes me wonder if yours had a faulty microswitch to shut off the brushroll when it's in the upright position. I can see some difficulty in re-assembly you have to like manualy align the metal bar just a bit to get it to snap another. Yeah very very basic bagless machine
