So how do you get the key underneath to unlock it if you ever need to? I’ve got the Reach S2 but there’s hardly any room for me to get the key underneath to unlock it.

Is it powered by the cars battery? If it's battery powered with its own battery, be aware that inclimate weather hot/ cold will drain that battery much quicker.

That’s a good point. I have mine plugged into a USB charger so it charges anytime the car runs. I’ve had mine installed for about two years and haven’t had any battery issues.

Mine is 9” (with a G43X). However, you need to leave at least 2 inches of space at the bottom in order to use the unlock key. Even that’s a little tight to get the key in, but it’s manageable.

Sorry to bother you, but I want to do exactly the same thing you’re doing with my Tesla. How do you insert the slide once you’ve installed the mount? I don’t have space underneath the mount and I assume you don’t either. Thank you very much.

I’m very sorry, I just now saw your comment. It was a bit tricky but it’s doable. If you install the mount so you have at least the length of the key below the slide, then you shouldn’t have too much trouble getting it installed. The more difficult part is taking the slide out. If you leave enough room you’ll be able to get the key underneath, but you’ll have to do it without being able to see the keyhole. All of this assumes, you have enough room in your console to add that extra space below the slide.

Great way to stage your gun when you can’t carry it into a certain place. I just have a combo safe in my vehicle.
