Well it's not because 3* with 4* restrictions has 3* higher buffs, normal 4* has normal buffs.

Probably didn't use it because either A) it wasn't unlocked yet B) was made in an update before invasion of the swamplord was added C) wanted to showcase it's doable without them In any case it's an impressive feat
