So either the weight on right click wasn't enough to keep holding, or the right mouse button itself is finicky with being held down (I've had that issue with mouses before) Unfortunately Sekiro is not a game with displayed inputs. That tends to be more a fighting / character action game thing (the games with combos and stuff), but not to worry, time travel via replay can help make up for that!
