She seemed to be their criwning achievement in the conquest, seems like they had that much power stopping a nuke would be simple. Thing is the mention Humans were the first intelligent life they had found, they didnt even know about the other more humanoid aliens till later. If you had knowkedge as these clbeing do able to open dimensions, seems that e=mc would be somethibg they cpuld alter, convert energy into matter..all that expenditure for nothing but neuro chemicals? Serotonin, possibly dopamine. I teresting as they actually had some of the mesical stuff correct the entric nervous system makes well over half almost 70% of (searstonin is like 35% ish ahd dopamine is a whole 75%+ in you gut)combined neurotransmitters.

Great series. I don't know how I missed this first time around. I would have been glued to it. About the closest thing to the Quatermass serials as one could get, and has many of its features. The incidental music is rather good too.

I remember watching this with my parents, they died over twenty years ago now. The ending made me cry then and still does now. There's something really special and powerful about the play that stays with you. It makes you think about life, families and the passage of time.
thanks for uploading that. absolutely no memory of it despite thinking id watched every bit of sci-fi the BBC had produced during the 80s/90s. grim ending.

Found this today when I was looking for Random Quest. I'd never heard of this, but decided to watch it. I wasnt sure if I'd watch it all at first, but it made me laugh that he lives in Rayners Lane. I live there haha! On the tube they merged Sudbury Town and Sudbury Hill, and completely did away with South Harrow (probably a good idea actually lol). It's a very nice little story, better than I thought it would be and I enjoyed it. Thank you for the opportunity to watch a rare little film I knew nothing about.

Someone on YT called this one of the worst sci-fi shows of all time, but I disagree! This has held me riveted to my laptop watching all the episodes. And with Anton Lesser, a great Shakespearean actor, how could it be bad? His monologue, in which he was shouting, in one of the flashback scenes in another episode, was brilliant and emotional. I'm enjoying this.

Rewatching this for perhaps the dozen'th time. Some who've seen this say it's crap and in particular Vincent Regan as Flt Lt Drake. While he sometimes is prone to hamming up his lines (not only him, Fred Ward as the General is probably the worst for this) I think he did quite well in this. Neither him nor Amanda are what you call 'likeable' but considering his character, fighter pilot, unmarried, no family, etc... maybe it fits? Jo Dow as the RAF Reg Officer (also occasionally a bit hammy) is another favourite character. I don't know, it's obscure British military/sci-fi and that's why I've always liked it. You might think it was quite low-budget but in fact the opposite is true. There was a lot of CGI in the series which looks a bit dated now but I guess looked pretty funky at the time.

He only flaw in this terrific thrilling drama is not a fault in the story but stems from how actors are always told to turn so as to face the camera, even if it does look ridiculously unnatural as this actress plainly shows at 7:16. The ‘natural’ way would have been for her to just turn her head a little clockwise.

The more I think about it knowing what I know of biology the nDs were created, they may had been a simple lifeform that someone altered and they got out of control. It seems to me tho that someone or some other thing would be able to easily shut them down, someone with greater knowledge of physics, it would be simple for them to prevent their gates, even open gates to the nDs location and wage war against them. One of the reasons why they wanted a female halfbreed species , estrogen makes a creature more pliable less prone to violence. I think I read a study that said the region of the brain that is responsible for understanding geometry and physics is large on males than on females but a females region of the brain responsible for general learning is larger and that on average a males brain is larger and contains more nureons simply because that fact..and yes more nerons is always better. The nDs know that males are a greater threat, we say shit like nuke it (and yeah that could be the answer..hence the women's opposition to it) nothing and I mean nothing carbon or even silica based could actually handle a nuclear fire something that can swiss cheese DNA..possibly giving the nDs polonium-210 could just totally screw them over.

Did not understand why they did the feminization of the species, if they had such power why do something so simple. I imagine if they are farmers they are running a budget and they don't can't let the expendeture exceed the net otherwise it would be useless..but its taking almost all reality into account, and eventually they would run out of area to propegate.
@WhatWouldVillainsDo Жыл бұрын
Seems like any expendeture they made would not be worth the actual effort. Just to get ahold of seratonin? Seems like there would be a much easier way.

Scifi always gets me with depictions of aliens weak frail acting more like a animal. If they could build tech way beyond what humans can I would say they would be rather complex and not acting like a severely autistic child. Also if it has a form similar to man there's a good chance they would be predators just like us.
