I was there too. Got a recording of it on video somewhere as it was shown on the first ever Tube

He was initially Jamie, but by the time the album was released, he had left. From memory, his replacement was working at the studio where they finished the recording process.

I'll never understand why they never had UK-wide commercial success with their first album which was a great slice of pop. My band supported them at a Glasgow Uni gig not long before they split up.

@@GvWeir Hi Graham.I seen them at Glasgow uni.Maybe same gig you played.Remember seeing them at The Mayfair disco about 86.The 1st time I ever heard them was 1982 when a DJ I worked with made me a mixtape and 1st last for everything was on it and I was hooked immediately.Happy Days.

@@dee4732 Hi there - thanks for the comments - strangely enough I've not long moved back to Glasgow from London. I was at the gig I think you are talking about. You'll be glad to know that I've got live versions of both "Don't leave me this Way" and "Shouting Out For Love". I'll try to dig them out (I've got a huge box in the new loft of cassette recordings) and put them up here.... Cheers

I've just loaded up the full set from the Hogmanay'82 Tube

i recall set the on the tube another time where the singer had a roland 606 in a shoulder bag and he was adding rhythm patterns live.. really inspired me!

@Dave Allan Kenny is a great drummer; I had a good online chat with him about STT when I was trying to put together some bumf on them to load into Wikipedia.

Only just discovered Set The Tone but I really like their music! 1982/83 has always been one of my favourite periods for music. They remind me slightly of another Scottish group, Leisure Process, that I absolutely love.

Which supported Ultravox, hence the Midge connection.
