Crocodiles only kill 1,000 humans, on average, every year? Hmmm. I understand the concept and need for apex predator species in a given environment, but as individual animals, I will never equate their value with a single human being. Not even the idiotic humans. Yes, we should and do protect them as a species, but when an individual develops a taste for human prey, it is time for that animal to depart this world. As the dominant animal on this planet, we have an obligation to manage the other species as well as protecting our own.
