I was a bouncer at “The Graduate” in San Luis Obispo, California in the late 1970s. We called this “The Dollar Dance.” Lord, how we had fun with this song in the days before AIDS. Being a Cal Poly student in the 1970s was heaven.

Perfection. I might be getting old, but the British music scene now, any music scene really, is just a joke in comparison.

There was a reggae record shop opposite Balham train station in the early nineties that I used to be in every day as a kid because they also had a great selection of arcades. I remember this great tune being on heavy rotation. Memories man.

Oddly enough the song was written about a friend of the band who was actually mugged while on holiday in Jamaica, apparently.
