Technically speaking, this isn't Sony's "entry" into baseball games, as they did produce a baseball game called ESPN Baseball Tonight under the Sony Imagesoft name for the SNES and Sega CD two years prior, but yes, MLB Pennant Race officially starts it all off for Sony's SCEA (which became 989 Sports and then Sony San Siego later on) in all of the modern PlayStation era of gaming.

Despite its simplicity, I really like this intro. I think the song is good, and the animation has an "Anime Final Arc" vibe, with the only thing being shown are the characters in their final showdown. I find that fitting, given this was basically the last anime opening for PawaPuro before 2011 came

Some aspects of this are so smooth, but the transition from the camera behind the batter to following the ball in play is so jarring. Something feels very out of sync there.

Omg this one is awful. You can't even tell where the ball is going after it's hit😂 The original Rbi 2 on NES is my all time favorite game. I still battle my brother like we did 30 years ago. The game play is so well done it never gets old. We have a rule where the first pitch for each batter is always just pressing the A button and no curving that way there's more action fielding and base running and less time spent just pitching. After the first pitch though we can throw other types of pitches so you have to try to make sure to not foul or miss the first pitch.

I liked how you could play an entire season on this game, but I just wished it kept track of stats. I actually kept my own stats while I was playing this game. I also liked how they had a center field camera and not the batter view for hitting and pitching. Way easier to hit.

Definitely better than MLB games today there soundtrack stinks and the game isn't any better

Theres an english patch version for this. This only allows 5 characters per name in editing though . Super Baseball Simulator 2 on Snes ( Culture Brain as well) allows 6 per name . But this has better graphics. Ugh.

What I remember about this game was that you would start like midseason with your team two games out of first place. I don’t know why they did it that way, but it was pretty cool.
