It takes lots of practice! Studying the basics and working on the fundamentals goes a long way of course. Maybe start with short projects that focus on one particular theme/movement that you want to convey the best you can. There are other Stick Nodes KZbinrs who have great tutorials who can give you great advice too!

Well to answer both questions at once in a way: you always want to build your StickFigure from the center-outwards. Basically, start with a base model for your figure, so you understand the anatomy and how each basic part will/can move. Build the clothes in/around this main base. Same for the hair, make sure each node for each hair strand aren’t all jumbled up randomly, but either stringed from one node to another, or straight from the main head node. You can always go to Sticknodes.com and look/use other submitted figures to see how others do what you want to try for yourself.

@@GrayDank but like with hair, there’s always that las node that isn’t connected. I always try to make it static but it doesn’t work. How would I fix that. KZbin isn’t much help in these situations

It’d be complicated to answer without actually seeing the issue. I recommend just going through the tools to see if maybe something is enabled that would somehow interfere that. I know Sticknodes had a ui update recently, so there were some changes to how some feature like making nodes static work
