I love the creepy aesthetic of most point-and-click games, especially this one! So creepy yet beautiful

Perhaps Michael's world being so easily bypassable actually ties in more into his value than immediately apparent: if you, the player, already have the knowledge that you can just grab the totem piece without going into the temple, maybe you already have what you need inside of you. You don't need to explore the inside of Michael's world because \*you\* already have everything \*you\* need. Even if you discover that on your first playthrough, I think it still feels right in a way. That's his world, that's a part of the game that the player can go inside of and learn more about. Or, they can just skip it, because they already have everything they need, inside. Or maybe I'm reading too much into it and it's just a funny oversight lol. Awesome video in any case! I have fond memories of playing this game (the original) in my school computer class toward the end of the year when all of our studies were done. My friend and I had to take turns though, because there was no co-op and we couldn't play online.

I definitely see the resemblance to Myst Island! I feel like this band seen what was possible in this medium and decided to take a stab at it without much prior knowledge of video games and this was the result. These kinds of games are hidden gems for a niche group of people, like the kind of thing that you mention to a friend and it sparks a child hood memory they forgot about, that's what Myst is like for me..

You're actually supposed to obtain it once you're on the boss platform, but seeing it early is definitely misleading! :)
