Could you drive up to phelps mountain/plateau in late may?
@jamesmcd25 ай бұрын
I am not sure, probably could on a low snow year. We hiked in from the Kirwin side. Once we hit about 10,000 feet we had a solid snow-pack for skiing.

I still say, Howa and Savage are probably the two best bangs for your buck when talking about factory rifle options. And good call running 223… With today’s ammo prices and lack of reloading components, it’s a good way to stay proficient without spending three dollars a shot, or more

Yes! Run this as a training rifle so don't have to burn components and burn barrels on my hunting rifles. Pay's for itself in the long run.

Shame you did not film the refuge de Champillon. We were treated like kings there, the food was soooo good

@@jamesmcd2We were there in 2020, during pandemic. We were the only ones! That's probably why they treated us so well

Are you sure Mauvoisin is the highest dam? I thought it was Emosson
@jamesmcd27 ай бұрын
Mauvoisin Dam listed as the 8th highest dam on Wikipedia, but on another list it is 14th. Either way huge dam and impressive feat of engineering.

Great work Sir! I ran this race as well but missed the cut off at mile 34. Next year I’ll be back better than ever!

Running it next year any tips?
@jamesmcd22 жыл бұрын
I focused a lot on long slow distance training to build my aerobic base (maffetone or MAF method). My max training distance was about 30 miles. I made sure to mix in some days with some significant elevation gain and steep hiking. Total elevation gain is 6000ft so did up to 4000 on a couple of training run/hikes. The course has a lot of runnable flats and gentle downhill too!

Awesome video man! I also ran the BH52 this year. What an epic (and muddy) course! I also have a vlog on my channel from my experience :)

What time of the year was this?
@jamesmcd22 жыл бұрын
We skied this near the end of May 2021. I think that is about as late a you could go most years. Late April thru mid may is probably the best window.

Awesome you guy are doing this but being from Wyoming you should know to say somewhere in Wyoming, don't need crowds here .
