Thanks Tim ! I'm making a list of NECA figures I want to buy and am struggling with Black & White VS Color versions. Although I could just buy BOTH for the ones they did two color schemes. I think I like the COLOR better, but I feel the B/W are more "Authentic", would appreciate your feedback on how you decide what to buy for your collection. Thanks.

Although Lugosi wore a different ring in the 1931 movie. This ring was seen first on John Carradine’s finger in „House of Frankenstein“ and „House of Dracula“ and Lugosi wore it only later in „Abbot and Costello meet Frankenstein“.

I have the Neca AC/DC figures, and Bill and Ted as Wyld Stallions...I think I gotta get this EJ set though the 1976 set sounds more appealing to me. I was 6 at the time so I remember all the hype surrounding the bicentennial.

it amazes me that they can mass produce a figure such as this at the price of $30.00 to $40.00 and with this kind of detail. the creature from the black lagoon is defenitely neca's best one so far. thanks so much for this review.

Besides the card and the fact they can glow, they dont remind me at all of the old remco line i had as a kid. Closest is the wolfman

I agree that The Wolfman is closest of the first three, but the Dracula and Phantom and Creature are all pretty similar to the Remco line. Plus, we have the Monsterizer coming up shortly, which I didn't get, so it is going to be really cool reviewing it. Thanks for watching the video!

Thanks for watching the video! In this case, I used a stylized black and white cloth mat in a light box. You should be able to get something similar at any fabric store.

I hear ya with limiting the figure collecting (I've all but cut off my "Star Wars" collecting!). The Lugosi Dracula went to online retailers after its exclusive run on the Jada site, so you can still get that one. I've seen it run anywhere from $25 to $30, which is well worth it considering all you get! $28 right now on Amazon! www.amazon.com/Jada-Toys-Dracula-Lugosi-Action/dp/B0BQKQ2CSG/

As was the movie, the most technically advanced of the Universal films, based on special effects, so to is this figure the most technically advanced, based on the visual illusion from the head and the glove. I like to put the hat on Dracula. Glad to see your review, and I would have liked it if Jada had gone the way of Super7 and added Imhotep and a bandaged mummy and Ygor.

Thanks for watching the video once again, Chris! I really love this figure and you're right about how advanced the film was for the time. I still would like a Claude Rains head sculpt, as little as we see him in the film. Apart from that, it's near perfect!

That figure just brings the soul out of that silent picture. Especially in color. Those Universal figures are awesome, with play actions without worrying about breaking something compared to Sideshow Eastwood stuff. I'm tempted to buy this one and the Frankenstein. I have a question, Tim...which one do you prefer or recommend, the Black and White Frankenstein or the painted green pale face one?

It really does bring out the soul, Sean! Glad you pointed that out. Yes, no issues at all with breakage from NECA, which is why they are the best! As for color and black-and-white figures, I always prefer the black-and-white. That's the way I was introduced to the characters and the most nostalgic for me. Having said that, I love the color figures, too. They're all great! Thanks for watching the video and your observations!

I recently bought this Eastwood Blondie figure and loved everything about it. The head sculpt is really good, and I frankly don't know what some collectors expected? Real flesh? There are realistic toy figures, and then there's collectors who want museum wax figures? I think since it's such a beloved movie character that critics are extremely picky, especially nerds and geeks alike.

First of all, thanks for watching the video and I completely agree! No figure sculpt is going to perfectly replicate the actors, but this one is pretty incredible. All of the Eastwood ones so far are. It's amazing to still think that an Eastwood figure is available at all, and I'm loving it!

If part 2 sticks to the books, his role in this movie will be one or the most important. He's the overall arching villian who is pulling the strings from the shadows from the very beginning of the story.

in the film the face inspired fear and disgust. In this figure, he makes you "laugh" in all the expressions that Neca has inserted. It is comical and almost cheerful. The "alternative" version created by Mezco is much better.

The Revoltech Jack Skellington figure is more film accurate in regards to the costume being more tight fitting like the film versus the cloth version NECA made. NECA’s version seems a bit poofy in the arm and leg area. But overall both look stunning. Great review as well

Oooh. That's a tough question. Both are expertly sculpted and I love the accessories for each. Short answer: I love them both! From a personal standpoint, I'm a huge Lugosi fan, so a slight tip of the cap to Dracula, character-wise. Thanks for watching the video!

@@TimLammersFilms I just noticed that Neca will be releasing a black and white version. I prefer it. However, I'm also undecided whether to buy this one in color. It depends on whether the two figures will have different accessories. For example, the color version of the mummy is the same as the black and white one, however for Bela Lugosi, the figures have some things different.
