It's still going. I have 0 regret. The one thing that everyone says is that it is tough to get stuck. It is lacking in power, but it is great for having traction. There have been lots of tiny issues. Random squeaks. Loose bolts. Broken grease fittings. I needed to completely adjust the shifter. The idle screw is frozen in place. Nothing major and it is still a very sound value, but I would say you need to be able to maintain it yourself. Good luck with your unit.

We got one just recently and used it a bit and it works very well, the stroke stop on it works good to speed things up. We have a 4'x8' farm-tuff wagon that I set the splitter on and just stood there splitting and piling wood on the wagon as my wife was stacking. As we get older we really don't like bending over picking logs up off the ground over and over and over, the wagon helps a lot. We don't do much wood processing, just the trees we cut down around the property and mostly burn in the garage wood burner.

It’s highly recommended to always consider safety; at a minimum wear safety glasses and at best wear a lumberjack’s helmet with a mesh face guard and ear protectors. Gloves too.

Now that you've had this awhile, how do you like it? Any problems?
@msears1012 жыл бұрын
works great. It is solid. It easily chips 4+ inches. I have chipped about 7+ cubic yards worth of mulch. (about 100 bags of mulch). I use the mulch for trails. I think they are raising the price may 1st. I would grab one now if you are considering it. Join their mailing list to get money off. Also I have made a contraption that works with the chipper. It solves the problem of wether you go to lots of little piles of brush or move every you want chipped to one big pile. My paths are narrow so I need to chip lots of small piles of brush. Come back in a week or so to check it out.

There is a lot of driveway you can't see, plus some of it was messing around - cleaning cars, shoveling, moving cars, losing my keys, helping the neighbor. It is also not as small as it seems. the Camera does really show how big it is or how deep the snow was. The snow was quite wet (heavy) also. The actual seat time was about 30 mins. The wider the driveway the longer is takes. It is 4 cars wide. Also All the snow has to go to the right - which also makes it take longer. The snow blower is faster, but not by much. I always give me self an hour to clean the driveway and the cars when we get a foot of snow. Thanks for the comment.

@msears1012 жыл бұрын
@@frederickshipp8013 I am selling it because I bought a bigger gas splitter. I have 4 acres of dead white ash trees, and needed a bigger machine to process the ash trees that are bigger than 24" diameter. It is a good machine. I still use it but only split kindling, which I could easily do with just a hatchet.

I got my new WEN 6.5 electric splitter a couple months ago, I use the stand that came with it. I am used to using one hand to guide the wood so it does not fall when I don't want it to, but with this splitter you have to use both hands to run it, and that lets the wood fall where ever it wants, had to fix that problem, so added a foot switch and a clamp on the button, speeded things up and this allows me to guide the wood, to fall where I want it to fall or not fall at all as needed...this video shows what a great job this splitter does though....Got to get out there and start bringing in the logs and start splitting.....
@msears1014 жыл бұрын
I would love to see your foot pedal setup. I use the stand now as well. The only downside is that it is slower than a bigger splitter. I have split several cords of wood with it. For the price it cant be beat.

@@msears101 I have seen some splitters that were so fast that I didn't want to get my hand anywhere near them...My last splitter was a DR-5 ton electric and I split a couple tri-axle log truckloads and the one year I cut and split 2 years worth of wood, just hauling it with my 8-foot log trailer behind my car, that took me all summer, cut down the trees, then sliced them up in 16 inch lengths, then hauled them home and split them with my 5-ton electric DR I just got the WEN 6.5 electric splitter and the footswitch set up in my garage, but it won't be too long before it gets to work, as long as I can travel around a get some wood after the lockdown.....

You see that orange knob in the front of the splitter? You can adjust that to shorten the cycle time when you are splitting shorter logs. My Yardmax electric splitter has that feature also.
@frederickshipp80132 жыл бұрын
@@msears101 Kate, I was just wondering, are you taking advantage of the stop that you can adjust so the pushing block doesn't go all the way back each time. If you aren't it would help speed things up a bit if you did. You wouldn't have to wait for it to travel up to contact the wood each time. I've been heating with wood over 40yrs and I still enjoy it. I'm building a 4 way wedge to help speed up the splitting process now.

I just got my new WEN 6.5 electric splitter a couple of days ago. It looks well made; the welds are immaculate, and I don't notice any shortcuts or things being just good enough to get by. I'm really excited to use it.

The removal of the fixator is painless. Nurse Justin was very gentle, but you can see he really had to push to get one removed, and it still did not hurt. The only thing that I felt was things shifting when they were removed. It was like a relief of pressure. It was just a slightly odd feeling. It kind of felt good and uncomfortable at the same time, but no pain. good luck

This is a montage of quite of few coasters. The videos were from trips in 1999. The first one is from Carowinds going up the lift. Then it goes to a coaster at Dorney park, anaconda, then it is Roar, before it was six flags america. then it transitions to another wood coaster at kings dominion. then predator at darien lake, then a wood coaster at kings island. I think I have it right. After the roar, I am a bt uncertain. I have the original footage if you really want to know.

It is a great resort, but it sort of depends on what you are looking for. It is pretty remote, so some could feel trapped. You can at the most walk 5 mins before you run into water. It is a small island. There is not a lot of things to do. We spent time snorkeling and diving. It is very good for relaxing. There is only one restaurant and the menu is pretty much the same. If you have other questions. Feel free to ask.

Nathan, thanks for the comment. I will have to dig my footage to be sure. I think that this is Thunderoad at Carowinds. If you look when it is going "backwards" at the top of the first sign, there is a sign. There was a rebel yell in Kings Dominion and Kings Island. I believe this was filmed when I went to 12 parks in 10 days - so they could have been mixed up. I have only been to carowinds once and it is possible I have misremembered. I will have to dig up my old tapes, which I am not sure I can play anymore.
