I don't know how you did it ! The problem is acrylic dries on canvas so quickly, there won't be enough time to blend. Once I used watercolour or gouache for acrylic background, it turned out ok.

Use paint retardant and you can blend till the cows come home. There are a MILLION of them on the market, thick gel, thin gel, iridescent, glossy, matte, floetrol (a small amount, not as much they use to pour)

Are you dipping your brush in water at all during this
@murrayinnandartgalleryform92623 жыл бұрын
On top left corner there is a water bottle. I dip the foundation brush in water to wash off paint, but I don't use water to help blending. I don't put any water on the big mop brush until finishing the background.

Beautifully done. This is just what I need for an animal portrait background. Even your choice of color in this video, suits what I am trying to do. Thank you for NOT doing time lapse,which is always distracting. Listening to you describe what you are doing is excellent. Great tutorial.

The bird turned out to be a female house finch. Her name is Summer. She finally learned how to find food herself. She also learned how to fly up and down with so much energy. I checked weather forecast and scheduled a day to send her back to nature. Three days before letting her go, two cables guys came for service and happened to keep our office door open for too long. She flew out into heavy storm. I was heart broken. I was going to let her go on the first sunny day after the storms. About a month later, a bird, just looking like Summer, came into a room here, then stayed with me in the kitchen at the Inn for a few hours. She wanted to go out so I brought her out. She flew up high to an oak tree in our front yard. I don't know for sure if she was Summer. I want to believe she is doing well because she learned very well how to find her own foods and how to fly up and down. I miss her very much.

I ruined a make up brush and a whole canvas and I am sad to say this didn't work for me...
@brendavawter Жыл бұрын
You can't ruin a canvas. You just paint over it. It takes practice and not quitting the first time it doesn't work for you.
