Do you guys see Truenas Scale powered by Incus (as of 25.04 future release)becoming a serious. pragmatic alternative to Proxmox for private small-timers? Especially those who do not want a separate NAS and virtualization compute box running simultaneously for power use reasons?
@lida4ever6 күн бұрын
IMHO, the upcoming TrueNAS Scale with Incus support release could indeed become a pragmatic alternative, especially those looking to consolidate their NAS and virtualization needs. The integration of Incus is expected to bridge the gap between TrueNAS Scale's strong storage capabilities and Proxmox's virtualization prowess, potentially offering a more unified system for managing both aspects. This could be particularly appealing for users concerned about power consumption, as running a single system instead of separate NAS and virtualization boxes would likely be more energy-efficient

You're doing a fantastic job! I need some advice: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How can I transfer them to Binance?

For context, a 'normal CPU like the 7950 can only do 2.8 TFLOPS, whilst the RTX 4090 GPU is capable of 86 TFLOPS. The Jetson Orin Nano Super uses less energy 25W. Its only limits is the ram. I hope a 3rd party comes up with a way add ddr5 memory., maybe using the M.2 interfaces on the board.

I installed this in my home lab before I left for work this morning. This is pretty awesome. I'm looking forward to watching it develop over the coming months.

I'm sorry for asking... In VGPU config is possible to get video output from physical ports ? (for one VM)
@lida4ever21 күн бұрын
IMHO that it is not possible to get video output from physical ports when using vGPU configuration in Proxmox. Here's why: When using vGPU (virtual GPU) technology, the physical GPU is virtualized and shared among multiple virtual machines. This virtualization process typically does not allow direct access to the physical display outputs of the GPU. In contrast, full GPU passthrough allows a VM to have exclusive access to the entire physical GPU, including its display outputs. This is the method that would allow a VM to output video directly to a physical port. If you require physical display output for a specific VM, there are a few alternatives to consider: --Full GPU Passthrough: Instead of using vGPU, you can pass the entire GPU to a single VM. This will allow that VM to use the physical display outputs. --DisplayLink Devices: These USB-based display adapters can be passed through to a VM, allowing it to output video without requiring direct GPU access. --Intel GVT-g: For systems with Intel integrated graphics, this technology allows for GPU virtualization while potentially maintaining some display output capabilities. .

About purchasing: I lean toward the biggest bang for my buck, which hasn't been Intel for years. My Windows tower has an AMD Ryzen 7 5000 series CPU, and my laptop is an Apple M1 MacBook, which is based on ARM. Sure, both my laptop and tower are a few years old, yet both are more powerful and cost less based on my needs. Yes, I paid the "Apple tax" for the MacBook, but it runs circles around the Ryzen during video editing, saving me quite a lot of time.

Probably, you haven't reached to the bottom of the subject line. I would suggest following. 1. If the data is absolutely important, and when you require snapshot with nfs, , for 3 to 5 node proxmox cluster, I will suggest Lanbit cluster of 3 nodes. You get best of everything. A true HA, snapshot, and NFS. 2. You can also use a dedicated node with zfs file system with nfs server installed it. 3. Ceph is no go simply because, anything less than 25 gbs network, it hardly gives any performance. 4. One should also avoid iScsi or Synology because of obvious reasons.
