The camber version is not a true camber design. It has the flat spots towards the tips so you still get a little bit of a catch free feel so it;s not bad for beginners. That being said for a beginner the flat version is definitely more stable and catch free.

Volume shift boards are a perfect option for rider with a little more weight. You can get into a length that fits you better height wise but also will hold a better edge compared to a similar size in a standard shaped board. Hey! Great video! I am 180-190lbs, 6’2 currently riding a Custom 158w with L bindings. I felt that the custom is not enough for powder and I an considering an upgrade. Would you recommend the HTH or the deep thinker? Would you go up in size? Although I really enjoy charging hard and floating, I don’t want to lose the “freestyle” vibe of the board to able to hit sidehits and some jumps in the park. Thanks!
@Sunandski16 күн бұрын
100% the HTH sounds like the answer. Like Oldmanwinter8 said in the video the extra board in the nose is beyond the contact point so on flat snow it will feel much closer to a standard all mountain board than you would think. As for length I would definitely bump it up a bit from what you are riding. Even though a board might fit you weight wise, when you are taller you still have a higher center of gravity and therefore more leverage over the board so you'll want a little more under your feet.

trying to choose hometown hero or Grill master thoughts?
@Sunandski21 күн бұрын
The construction and all mtn/freeride focus on both of these boards is super similar. The main difference is the Gril Master has a directional flex and a little more taper (15mm) vs the HTH which pushes it slightly closer to the "freeride" side of things. Little bit more float and power when riding in one direction. Not that you can't ride switch on the Gril Master but the twin flex and the slightly less taper (12mm) of the HTH makes for a board that is slightly more versatile as an "all mountain" ride. You really can't go wrong either way, it's just personal preference.

Great video. Same way i set mine up last year. The middle strap catches lots of people out, they crank it tight and then complain the system doesnt work. They need to read the instructions or watch this. Comments about weight, they weight a little more than my old union force bindings. Yes they are heaver than freestyle specific bindings but if your that skilled a rider, maybe these arent for you.... Same as you provably arent using a pow board or split board in the park.

@Sunandski24 күн бұрын
Up to you, the 160 would definitely fit you well. As for the overhang, even with a size 11.5 making sure you have the bindings centered is MOST important so your toes and heel are hanging off the same. That can make a HUGE difference on a standard width board.

how squishy is the strata base bushing compared to the ultra....? and are the footbeds the same on both?
@Sunandski24 күн бұрын
They are different bushings on the 2 models. The best way to think of it is the Ultra is like the suped up version of the Strata. The Ultra is still a medium flexing binding but it is lighter and has upgraded companents on EVERYTHING! When it comes to the baseplate the Ultra has a dual density material with the lighter, cushier molecular bushing under the baseplate and then a TPE material under that (against the board) for added support. It's like having a midsole and outsole on a shoe. Both are great bindings but you definitely get more out of the ultra for the extra $.
