When some students started playing the CD, the classroom was suddenly transformed into a beautiful world, full of fantasy. I’m now 63 and still like this song very much. As much as I like this song, it doesn’t fit Squal and Rhanoa. It fits best with Laguna and Julia. A song about a guy who’s too shy to step forward tot all to a beautiful woman who is waiting for him to make a move. They both watch each other and the woman hopes and prays he has the courage to talk to her and be the man she wants him to be so that he’s not just a dreamer but the love of her life. She wants to comfort him and hear his heart beating as they hold each other. She wants to heal his wounds and smooth his aches. She wants to make a future with him and all he has to do is talk to her. The song was perfect for those two and should’ve been the song that played when they are at the bar. Then it should’ve played as Laguna meets Rhanoa and reflects on what might have been before thinking of Rhaine and his regrets about not being able to be with her one last time before she gave birth to their son (Squall). In the end the story was good and had a lot of generational threads that helped expand the universe and this song was very touching but I have to agree with a certain Spoony Bard, that the fine details and the kiddish BS brought this game down. With just a few tweaks this could’ve been something truly special and worthy of a saga long movie series. As it stands, it’s a brilliant epic told with a child’s dialogue and goofy pablum. A dirty Star that could’ve been but was obscured by circumstances and never allowed to flourish like the romance between Laguna and Juliet. Poetically tragic
