Idea for a video:- I see from your hunting videos you have a Zulus. I find the custom ballistic table really useful and better than the calculator since a range card can effectively be stored. 10m to 70m and spot on. So covering how to make a range card and then use the Zulus with the data.

It’s the equivalent of field archery vs target archery. Yes all the bells and whistles can improve your performance but at the end of the day it’s the person not the equipment that makes a good shot. Years back I was in a field target archery club and they had a friendly competition with a target archery club. Over stated distance the target archery club was, on the whole, more accurate than the field club and the sights and weights did compensate for a better, more accurate shot, but when we went into the woods they were screwed, couldn’t hit the target at anywhere near the regularity of the field club. F.y.i. The best shot overall was an old bloke with a long bow who split two arrows at 80 yards

I’ve been doing some pistol target shooting… just 3 to 4 foot pounds of power, single stroke pneumatic or CO2. Ive been using two lengths of thick scaffold planks as a back stop, at 6 to ten metres, the wood is taking a right battering. I spoke to the days Range Officer at my local club the other day. We had a quick chat about how people really under estimate the damage sub 12 can do to a person. If a shot slices the artery in the neck or goes the right place in the eye… that person is dead. Some people seem to think you’ll just get a welt and big bruise. Take care and shoot safe!

Different with live quarry for a humane dispatch I wouldn’t take a shot any longer than 35yrds with a sub12….on a personal note I think sub12 is pathetic for a power limit, projectiles don’t expand properly even the hades so they just pass through without imparting energy efficiency

To be honest it does not take much to knock the centre out of a 2pound piece, it's only press fit. Shoot a 2p piece at 40yards and you will not bend or dent it. As for tin, paper thin now due to saving the planet my son can hole these with a peashooter at 3yds with a grain of rice and split lentils

Hello my friend, Thank you for your video. Yes, sometimes in this country, we get some shooters that moan/pull their faces at 12ftlb, and people in other countries laugh at us. However, the people responsible for our power limit will have to bear in mind that the power limit they decide is for everyone and not just keen, responsible, sensible airgunners like us. I'm a keen diy-er, and I make all my own targets. I've only been abroad a handful of times in my lifetime, though accrued a bagful of foreign currency, which has far more value to me as airgun targets. Funnily enough, North Wales is my most favourite place to holiday now no matter where I had the choice of. I fly fish too, and for me, Wales is the place. I've made my coin targets from foreign currency coins. They dangle off salvaged bicycle wheel spokes, which very kind, thoughtful neighbours have dumped in my back alley, thinking they were being very clever. Obviously, some of the coins were thicker than others. Yes, in respect of your video and your point, I was very surprised at the damage a .177 JSB Heavy pellet can do at a coin at forty yards. On the same topic, I was amazed at the amount of damage/trauma the same pellet suffered when I extracted it out of a pest, which I left for our local Buzzard, though it did come into contact with a lot of bone. Although some other countries seem to have a free reign, as regard to their air gun power limit without a licence, I don't think we do too bad at all here. We also have to take into consideration what we may hit if we miss our intended target. All things considered, I don't think we do too badly at all, when you take into account twelve foot pounds, is power allowed to anyone in this country without a licence. Best wishes, Ian. Ps. Your air rifle looks fantastic. I'm lucky enough to own an Air Arms Ultimate Sporter in .177 calibre. I think it's a fantastic air rifle. Beautifully made and fiercely accurate.
