Lived there for 4 yrs before moving to Boston. The fair, drive-in theatre and ice cream shop were the fondest memories.

My ancestors owned a blacksmith shop that still stands today. Definitely need to come visit and see where it all began for us.

This is so interesting, thanks for sharing! I live in a city in Central Europe called 'Graz' and it's cool how even though my existence is vastly different from those living in Gratz Pennsylvania, there is a commonality found when talking about being from a place called "Gra(t)z", calling a city with that name your home.

This is by far the best footage I’ve seen of this place (specifically because you included the much larger boulder field section located through the woods there). I haven’t found another video that shows it. I also feel like that because it’s such a long way away from the entrance that most people don’t even see it (let alone know that it’s there).

In my lifetime I have had the privilege to visit Roadside America three times . The last time was the summer of 2019 somewhere near the time it closed . Thank you for not only posting some of the timeline of this place but also the unique drone footage inside and out . The music selection is a great match with all the footage too .

Lucky you. I found out about it after it closed from Toy Train Revue. I have seen the Choo Choo Barn though. As a model railroader myself, we all strive to have that amount of detail on our layouts. But anyone can do what Geringer did. Too bad there aren’t many places like this in the country.

Thanks for sharing! Awesome video, well done. Are there any roads accessible to any part of the wall? I'm getting too old for hiking very far but would love to see it! I hope someone can answer my question.

Thank you! Yes there’s a parking area just off Goldmine Road. From there it’s about a quarter mile walk give or take with a slight grade uphill to get to the rocks. That’s the closest you can get to the rocks from the road.

Loved in Tamaqua my whole life, Tuscarora is the lake not far away, locals call it that I recently moved out of Tamaqua, not far I still go to the highschool there. I spotted my 97 Lincoln Town car around 2:40, white car dark blue roof, kinda cool to thee that. Otherwise I love this video cause you don’t see many people talking or even mentioning Tamaqua. I loved hiking the mountain behind the highschool with my friends, it was somehow better than going to the parks around there lol.

Excellent tribute to the St Nicholas Breaker. I’m glad I was able to tour it a few times before it’s demise. Unfortunately Locust Summit was already gone by then. Did they take down the remains of Maple Hill at the same time. There was still a head frame there when I was last there, probably 10 years ago.

I have old photos of my Mom's side of the family by a RR trestle and it's marked as Highbridge. Not sure if it's the same place, but they used to go there for picnics and let the kids climb for entertainment.

This is where my Great grandma Edna Burkey, my and Great grandpa George Burkey were from. My great grandma was born in 1892 and died in 1994 at 102 years old. That made me 14 when she past. My Grandma Evelyn was born 1915 she married my grandpa David Reinhart. She had 10 kids she has 4 kids in Pottsville then moved to Lake Milton, Ohio close to Youngstown to work in the steel mills. I hope these small town places do not become big cities. I love small towns. I can't wait to explore my family tree.
