This has been BY FAR the best, most entertaining Te Araroa series that I've watch thus far!! I've got to confess that I wasn't sure you were going to make it after the first day 🤣, but I'm so glad you did and so glad you filmed it all. Congratulations on an amazing achievement, cheers!

Hi Ross, I hope to hike the TA some day and I love your videos bc you show us not just vistas but the day to day of what you see & do. I really appreciate them. Makes the trail seem more doable and less scary. You also crack me up. Thanks so much. : )

WOW. I truely feel I've just gone on the TA journey with you. Thank you for finding the courage to share the low points as well as the highs, something very rare on this platform. You should be incredibly proud of the distance you've travelled and for putting these videos together - I loved every second. Although kind of wish you'd shown us what your feet looked like at the end... is that gross? A fetish? Probably but i'm fine with it. Thank you x

Did you stay in the cabins? I heard that staying in them was only for members of the Kludahk hiking group. Another question is "how did you get to the trailhead?" I tried once before to find it, we drove up logging roads and never did find it.
@ItsRossJackson
@ItsRossJackson 3 жыл бұрын
Hey! I talk about it more in the full Kludahk video but yes, its been over a year so I definitely suggest checking out their website and giving them a quick email to check up on that! OOO I think the trailhead was tricky to find, I had paper maps a friend gave to me and struggled with them still. They also have the maps available on their website, but maybe you can find other ways in?! Possibly on Alltrails.com or something similar. I found it much easier to access on the north end, it was just 2 km or less up the road (past a couple "what could be" trailheads). The southern end is pretty far up forestry roads as I recall!

Oh this takes me back! We did this such a long time ago, six of us! Two of them were so gung ho that when we arrived at the Rowardennan for our overnight stop my friend and I dashed up Ben Lomond. I was in shock in the restaurant that evening, my pint was holding me up. I’ve stayed a couple of times on the Glen Nevis campsite - I remember drinking ‘Black and Tans’ in there - half and half Deuchars IPA and Sweetheart Stout. Such a great time on the WHW, your video was brilliant. Trail camaraderie - nothing like it! That path along the shore of Ben Lomond is deceptively tough though!

This is far and away the best couple of videos on doing the Pennine Way! Subscribed! I thought you were following in our footsteps but in reality we followed you a year later in 2019. We finished and took a bit longer, breaking up the trail so we had a couple of shorter days here and there. Plus we had a small army of friends come and walk with us for many of the days. (We live in Yorkshire so not a huge logistical feat!). Seventeen people and three dogs my wife counted! Glad you enjoyed it - my own journey, although we went from end to end in 2019, took me over forty years to complete having had a couple of disastrous aborted attempts as a much younger man. Will look forward to seeing where else you’ve walked.
