These cheap Aliexpress pickups didnt have the DC resistance or inductance I wanted, so I made my own. This required some donor parts. I think you must have missed that point.

@@spidey4fun sorry about the sarcastic comment and not watching. I do understand, winding your own pickups and I’ve done that too. sometimes if it’s a particular pickup like this, I would just buy it to make sure I get the sound I want.
@spidey4fun6 ай бұрын
@@buzzedalldrink9131 I originally considered buying a set but original Burns Tri-Sonic pick-ups matching specs close to Brian Mays would be nearly impossible to find and the cost would be off the charts. The currnet licensed set makes no mention of each pick-ups specs and are probably bobbin wound. There's plenty of back-yard makers doing "air wound " coils but getting the correct top case engraving is again a problem as they arent licenced to make them. Also, the wide spread of readings I've measured on DC resistance and inductance of other back-yard makers wasnt real pleasing. So I came to conclusion I'd just make them myself. I like making stuff, so doing the research and developing the process was fun.. life should have more fun.

Are the 2 isotopic magnets held in the bobbin with both their faces pointing north because if they are placed end to end they repel and try to spin round I have made the coils and have the magnets from axerus , I have been having trouble figuring out how to install the magnets the correct way as the faces are polarised not the ends like normal magnets, if you place the down end to end they attract each other together but one face is south and the other face north unless you hold the so both ends together. Once you let go, they spin back round.

Hello, can you share how to create the G- Code for 4 Axis? Thank you very much!
@spidey4fun Жыл бұрын
It's actually just the usual 3 axis x and y code with fixed z axis code at the start and finish of each cut. I set up a new profile in Mach3 with the rotary A -axis and the X - axis swapped. This allows me to jog the X axis over the pipe still. The G540 controller is 2000 steps per revolution. I have a 100:1 harmonic drive in the mix also. 2000 x 100 / 359.084 ( which is the circumference of the 114.3mm diameter pipe) gives 556.9727 steps/mm. This is set as the profile for a 114.3 pipe. In CAD I simply un-roll the pipe to a flat surface and create the code. The x axis controls the rotation of the pipe. I have a profile for each size pipe I cut to make sure the steps/mm is correct. Hope that makes sense.

@spidey4fun2 жыл бұрын
It was written with modified milling cam software. I had to write a few macros and insert that g-code into the start and finish procedures for the touch off probe, initial cutting height control before the THC kicks in, pause period to allow the initial cut through and I removed all the z-axis commands in the setting so no z-axis g-code is generated.
